Waste of money!
I would not recommend buying this machine unless you are okay with throwing your money away. Shortly after arriving, the machine started to leak at the base where the drain is located. The hose that attaches to the machine is cheap and looses its fitting quickly. We did our best to make it work in the meanwhile. The shortly after the leak problem we noticed that the ice that was being made was immediately being melted. Almost as if the machine was going into a defrost mode. We checked the control panel to make sure the settings were proper and they were. When we contact the seller to report the problem, nothing good. Only push back and then pages of trouble shooting techniques and steps to go through to āverifyā the machine is not working. I am not a refrigeration tech and the ridiculous amount of requests to open, reset, reprogram, take this piece, replace that piece is not going to change the fact that the machine is not making ice. When asked to please send a return label, it didnāt happen. The product is trash, donāt buy it. If it breaks you will not receive your money back and the customer support is less than helpful.

Makes ice š§ in 13 minutes on average. After first batch of 19 minutes
The media could not be loaded. Got the machine on 6-15-20 and unboxed it. It was in good condition well packed, (I deliver for FedEx and have seen some bad packages) The installation was straight forward and easy. I decided to go with the direct plumb option because i have a good water filter, (it does come with an in-line filter). They include all the necessary hardware for water and drain lines. If you need longer lines a hardware store will carry what you need. They recommend to clean the interior of the unit which i did using a highly diluted bleach and water mix which you can obtain from the Clorox website for general cleaning. I plugged it in and pressed on/off switch which started the machine and began making ice. There isnāt a thick or thin setting button however there is an adjustable time button labeled +- in which you can increase or decrease the cycle by 8 minutes to adjust to your desired thickness. There is a cleaning function and the manual says to use lemon juice or vinegar diluted to a 1:1 ratio (example 1 qt vinegar to 1 qt water). I used to do commercial ice machine maintenance and i would recommend to buy NuCalgon ice machine cleaner which Amazon sells. It tells you how to dilute and use. Being that the plates are nickel plated NuCalgon is nickel safe. The bin holds ice but is not refrigerated and will melt slowly however it is insulated. This unit requires some sort of floor drain for the ice bin and when you use the cleaning function. Overall i am happy with the unit and would recommend it.Update!!! On 10-10-21 the pump quit already š¢ it had been getting somewhat louder but finally quit. So now what? Well I ordered a small aquarium pump on Amazon that looks similar so i am hoping it will fit if it does i will update this again with the item so others can repair if needed.04/09/2023 it draws around 215 Watts running or about 1.8 Amps

wish this recycled the water
Works great for making ice, only wish the water that drains out was able to recycle verses wasting the water. We did rig up a way for it to drain off and reuse what is melting off.

I love this gadget.
I was spendingn12 dollars a day to keep us innthe luxury of having ice on hand. That's over 120 per month. I spent 220 on my ice machine and I love this lil guy.To be noted about the unit, it does not have a storage freezing unit so, for me, when the bin is half full I scoop it out into a container and toss it in the freezer. After 10 min the ice freezes harder. I give it a cpl pokes with a butter knife and BAM, I have restaurant quality ice in hand at all times. It's very worth the price. Thanks guys. Great product.

Waiting for over 6 months for REFUND from Rovsun (Ice Maker Machine)
I returned the Rovsun Ice Maker Machine on July 9, 2024 via USPS. I never even open the box and returned it as it was shipped to me. I gave Rovsun the USPS tracking number and I have repeatedly requested a refund for the returned item. All Rovsun gave me is the run around for over 6 months now. I spent $317.99 for the ice maker. I thought this company had integrity because Amazon let them on their website to sell and do business. Normally all the companies have processed the returns and refunds in an efficient manner without having to call them on a monthly basis from the Amazon website. Rovsun is the worse company to deal with on Amazon so far. This is a fair warning to all.

Smaller than it looksā¦
First of all, the machine is beautiful. Polished stainless (chrome) finish, illuminated door. However I had envisioned it being MUCH larger. It is tiny. Think of the size of a standard kitchen garbage can.. I was pleasantly surprised when I powered it on and it makes ice pretty well! Been filling bags of ice and putting them in the freezer (machine is not cold enough to keep ice - so itās a major waist of energy if you just want to use it as an ice holder too). Door is cheap and not insulated, much tighter area that you think to dig the ice out of (not much moving room in there). Not easy to clean like others say. Itās too tight. It isnāt on casters, so you canāt roll it around. I modified that before I even turned it on. Right now it is running from a water jug, and it uses 5 gallons in one day. The ice maker stops at around 10-12 pounds of ice made (even tho it says it holds 20 pounds). The cubes were coming off in sheets, till I realized it wasn't level. Thatās probably why it was shutting down making ice around 12 pounds - the sheets tripped the switch.Anyways, it works, but I wish I would have spent a little more money and got a larger model with a bigger bin. Just food for thought. Perfect size for an at home bar tho!
