ALLSTATE CARBURETOR Edelbrock Rebuild Kit

Kit worked perfectly to rebuild my Edelbrock 1406. No leaks, perfect operation. I would buy again.

Just used this kit to finish a refresh on an Edelbrock 1406 carburetor. Used all the bits I needed and there were a couple left over that I assume are for other variants of Edelbrock or Carter carbs. The gaskets were great quality and fit perfect, look almost identical to the original gaskets I removed. And the metal accelerator pump fit great as well. I’ve got another 1405 Edelbrock on my bench that needs to be gone through, so I’ll order another of these kits when that time comes!

Great kit!! Only complaint is the accelerator pump was smaller than the one in my Carter 650

This kit is more complete, just as high quality and $15 cheaper than the genuine Edelbrock 1477 kit.

Edelbrock 1405, 600 cfm, manual choke: I bought a cheap $10-12 kit a year ago. The only hard parts were floats which could never have fit. Some of the gaskets were tight on one side and had to be crushed into place, and a couple could only be made to fit by trimming. Fast forward to last week and I need that carburetor bad. Not trusting the previous kit, I went through it it again with this $41 kit. This kit contained no floats at all, the gaskets were good...only one needed trimming, and it has one float needle/seat assembly (should have 2), and contained the check ball and ball weight for the accelerator pump circuit. The exploded parts sheet was illegible. The adjustment instructions I found to be the best part of the kit...detailing several adjustments I never knew about. There must be millions of this series of carburetor out there...somebody needs to call out the companies that sell kits that are wrong or incomplete.
