Q: I always measure things in grams only, does it recall this or will I have to constantly set it to measure in grams every time I power it on?

There is a button UNIT that allows you to switch when you wish to change measurements. The scale returns to the last unit type used at power off. So if you set it to measure in grams before power off, it will recall grams next time.

Q: Do you need a weight thing to calibrate it?

You do not need a standard weight or set of weights to calibrate the scale; but I suppose a set of weights might be nice to confirm the scale's accuracy.

Q: I need the scale to stay on for 30 minutes. Can that be done ?

If nothing moves on the scale, it would turn off by itself in 3 minutes.

Q: Does the red charging light turn green when fully charged? The light keeps turning on and off, but always red. Thx

funny, mine says, "CHAr" on readout screen when charging; "Fully Charged" when finished. No red or green lights. You must have a different model. Sorry I could'nt give you an answer applicable to your question. Hope this helps.
