I've been using it outside for several years.

can it be used on a gas fireplace insert?

We purchased this 11 years ago in a previous house for our new gas stove, but I think this would not be safe for an open flame (fireplace insert), but there are ones that are safe for an open flame.

Can this be used on a propane stove

Yes. I'm using it for my propane stove and have had no issues.

Don't bother, leaks, poorly machined adapters

Shorter than stated in item description; approximately 33 inches long, not a full 36 inches. Poorly machined adapters leak readily even with plumber's tape and pipe dope. Took multiple applications to stop leaks. Not worth the effort. Attempted to return item, but only given option for troubleshooting item in return options; not the option to return in any way for refund. Skip this, spend a few more dollars, and get a better quality product that is backed up by a solid return policy!

Good quality for the price

Not a lot to say about this except that it's good quality for the price. Everything fit fine with no leaks, and that's really all I need it to do. Would buy again.

This is not the gas line for aProcom ML250TPA-B propane wall heater that Amazon recommended. Very disappointed.
