Getting worse after the first book
I was not really sold after book one and wanted to see where this story was going. But it just didn't go well. I find the plot lacking, the female main character annoying and lacking, even though she is supposed to be portrayed as a strong woman. She just isn't...Not an empowering story, and not a good romance story. I will leave the series here...However, the author has some other stories like Kings of Mercia that are much more developed, and i strongly recommend these instead of spending time with this trilogy.

Fantastic!
A great continuation of the first book, this follows the serving term at Sanguine Academy, and gives us an everchanging view of the relationship between frumosi and vampire. What seemed established in Book One is changing, which means changes for Alicia and her Stryx brothers.

Another solid 4.5 star read
Book 2 in this series was just as entertaining as Book 1, but again finished on a cliff hanger....And just when you thought they would FINALLY get the full blood bond completed we see more twists and turns.Onto book 3!

I really liked this first book, but this one had me at the edge of my seat for most of the book.... and what an ending!

Horribly degrading & she's quick to jump into bed
If you want to read a book where the "romantic" male leads call the female lead "whore" every other sentence they speak to her, degrade and humiliate her at EVERY turn, abuse, lie, manipulate, and abuse some more, then this is your book. I myself think that it should be impossible for a female lead to fall for men who treat her so abominably. They treat her worse than trash, use her worse than a common prostitute and humiliate and degrade her the ENTIRE time; and yet the woman falls in love with them even though they really do nothing to make up for their ill treatment after they offer a truce. There is ONE scene where she finally fights back and they offer to stop, and then. . . they are off to the races sexually. She forgives them at the drop of a hat and that is it. Well, not enough for me. This series has a HEA and the boys/men "reform" their behavior, but only one of them does anything worthy of being forgiven.I didn't think the Kings of Mercia High books this author wrote were too bad, but this is a beyond the pale horrible depiction of the sexual humiliation and degradation of a high-school-aged female -- my blood is boiling at how disrespectful, demeaning, degrading and humiliating they treat this girl. This is beyond bullying and into torture and rape by non-physical coercion. I finished, but this was not one of her best efforts.

Less than impressed
I read the first book and didn’t love it, but I thought the second one would be better. I was wrong. This one is even worse. The main character makes no sense, makes incredibly stupid decisions continuously, and magically disregards brutal disrespect from the main male characters. I know this is fiction, but her reactions to continuous trauma from the first book to this one are so inexistent that it’s laughable. The only reason I didn’t put one star is because it was so bad I somehow finished the entire book. Don’t read it unless you like unredeemable men and completely stupid protagonists.

Bloodoathes mean nothing?
I lost track of how many times the blood oathes were broken. They seem pretty important until our main heroine comes in and makes one, then poof! The oath is broken left and right without any consequences. So what is the point? It literally bugged me so much that getting through this second book was a chore.Combine that with everyone's sudden change of character with little to no explanation and it was almost even to make me quite reading halfway through.I will say that the world building is interesting and I do like the main heroine, but it is extremely frustrating as a reader to see her placed in impossible situations only to be saved by the author's fiat.I'm not continuing with this series but I would like to know why the blood oathes are so worthless.

Love this series!
Okay. So I loved this book. I like how it is different from most normal vamp stories. The heroine is tough and she is not a damsel in distress, she has power. The boys are becoming loveable, with enough intrigue and mystery to keep me hooked. I can’t wait for the next one!!

A Read to Escape
I like a book where I can see it unfold in my mind but with some you can actually feel the characters as well that is the gift that a talented author can give...
