Bracket, power connections, fixing pad replica of HDC100/200/300 which is no longer available. and
I purchased this as I had replaced the bracket twice before, each time, broke in the same place. The originals via awell known high street supplier of car parts, often £20 + vat each, the original kit £70+. I have just bought 2 of these complete, RING brand for £32.20. Firstly to replace the front camera and since the rear one is on the hoof, that one as well. Better Quality than the original and half the original price for 2. What a bargain and they work perfectly, upgrade the bracket, use the original same connections, bag in business in half an hour. Brilliant.

No frills but does the job. GPS included
I needed a cheapish dashcam so I bought the Ring as a crazy Black Friday deal meant it was cheaper than the many unbranded dashcams of varying quality available online. Despite the mixed reviews I decided to try it myself. Very simple to fit and I found the suction excellent - more than adequate to hold a lightweight plastic dashcam. There is a quick release system for security with the main body simply sliding off the mount, not sure how this would hold up with regular use as it looks vulnerable to wear and tear. I like the 'unflashiness' of it - far preferable to the shiny fake chrome and metal the unbranded models seem to suffer from. In terms of video quality it's okay, certainly good enough for the intended purpose. Numberplates vary in readability but the make and model of vehicles is clear. The unit has a 'parking mode' which uses motion sensing to record those coming close and of course any impacts but this requires a hardwire kit with voltage protection to avoid draining the battery. These are not especially difficult to fit (Halfords will happily do it for a price) but not worth the hassle for me. The small LCD display on the rear of the unit is actually pretty good - the screen has to be manually turned off each time it boots up which is a good way of checking it's working, unfortunately the button is the wrong side for RHD cars but that's a minor inconvenience. While recording there is a nice big flashing red button so you know it's recording without the screen. As I bought the camera primarily for my own protection I was really pleased to find it has built in GPS - I didn't see this in the description but having an accurate speed recorded is very useful should the footage be used as evidence. In an age where police prosecute based on user-uploaded footage it's hard to justify not having a dashcam. It should be fitted in a swept area of the windscreen in a way which avoids obscuring the driver's view, mine is behind the rearview mirror and works fine although condensation is a pain during winter.

Cheap but does the job
I bought this ages ago and it still works well. The rubber kept slipping but after using a lighter to reset the rubber it hasn't fallen off. It does the same thing as the more overpriced nxxtbase dashcams but for £20 it is a bargain

No support
Do not buy. The WIFI will not work, contacted the manufacture Ring, they advised that the RDC range is old and discontinued. There is no longer an app available that will connect it and there is no support from Ring. I will be returning this to Amazon as they are selling old unsupported stock.

Excellent dash cam
Excellent quality of both the camera and the picture quality, my only gripe is not being able to link the camera to my phone as it doesn't exist on the ring app

Good, but do not rely on it
I have had budget (£20 to £30) DashCams for years. I wanted a slightly better picture quality. This DashCam delivers in that area. It is not Nexar clear, but it is a good picture. So 5 stars right? Wrong. There are a few issues which need to be addressed, which would make this great. The Maximum size of the Memory card is 32GB. This is quite small in this day and age - to the point where I could not find a spare card in Walmart (all U3 cards were 64GB and larger). We really should be looking at a limit of at least 128GB. Reliability. While it showed as recording, some of the cards then came out blank. The second half of my trip through Death Valley is missing entirely - the card is simply blank. Obviously this is not a major issue, Mrs K will not get to see it. However if I was to have relied on it for insurance reasons, I'd be very upset now. Also, the first few recordings were broken. You'll need to power the camera for a significant period before it holds enough power to shutdown gracefully. If it does not shut down properly, the file is not closed, and cannot be played. In summery, it's a decent picture for the money, but too un-reliable to be useful as a DashCam.

Good dash cam
Hi, the dash cam was delivered on time. The box seal was broken so was not brand new. Amazon did offer refund. The camera is easy to set up and suction is good. The app is also good and I can connect and download videos and photos easily. The quality of dash cam is ok for the price. The day and night quality is not the best but you can see vehicles. The vehicle registration is hard to read though when car is being driven and you will need to be really close to view. Overall, the honest review is that it is not best for insurance or accident to have and I would spend more for better view camera. Thanks
