One of Van Damme’s Best!
JCVD has 3 movies that I really like. They are-Hard Target-Sudden Death-TimecopWhen discussing this movie in particular, Van Damme appears to have a wider acting scope than his usual films while retaining his athletic capabilities. For those who like Action/Sci Fi, I would certainly recommend this movie!

Superior plot, one of JCVD's better films.
Just to add a little bit more to compliment the excellent 4 star review by Timelord 007 on the blu-ray.In my view the star of the film is the time travelling element around which the action takes place. Well done though it's rare for this kind of film not to have a few WTF moments, it at least starts with a tragedy and I, like many viewers, was hooked in to see if our man could put things right by the end ----- it's all about the journey getting there with action, fights and shoot-outs, nicely underplayed hero by Van Damme and a suitably villainous corrupt politician played by the late and excellent character actor Ron Silver. In all honesty the heavies in the film were rather weak, merely there to give Van Damme some exercise. It's the actors that added to the story line, Mia Sara and Bruce McGill both solid and strong backup to the two main stars. Some reasonable CGI's give enough impetus to the time travelling effects without taking over the plot. I'm a sucker for anything that has time travel at its heart and this film certainly delivers in spades.94 minutes, English subtitles, widescreen 2:35:1 ratio, no notable extras.

Really Kicks Bottom :)
Probably one of Mr Van Varienberg's (his real name) best efforts next to Universal Soldier. A half decent sci-fi story involving illegal use of time travel for personal gain. The Muscles from Brussel's was never going to win any awards for acting but he is likeable and if you enjoy all out action flicks albeit a little dated I would give it a shot.

(Van) Damme its good!
With his career now appearing to be in the doldrums its good to look back and see what an effective action star Jean Claude is when he's given a good plot, decent script and a role that calls for minimum acting. Of the numerous films that he has made this one is easily the best and one of the few that was critically well received. With a real actor, Ron Silver, playing the villain opposite him all Van Damme has to do are flex his pecs, perform his stunts and let the special effects do the rest. Its as though the makers of this film knew what his limitations were and made the film in such a way that he was not stretched beyond them. You can count on a couple of fingers the number of his films that this has happened with. So whether you like martial arts movies, science fiction films or just plain action movies sit back and enjoy 'cause there's something for everyone in this film.

Van Damme finest
A Jean-Claude Van Damme masterpeice. One of his best films on par with Universal Soldier, if you like this kind of genre. It's a sci-fi romp through time with a hidden bad guy with agenda.
