Fury (New Species Book 1)

I liked Fury the hero and the initial plot. But this is too expensive & a bit boring at times
I did really like this book, I do enjiy sci-fi Alpha, mate, type stories but I had to give this 3 stars for several reasons. The first is the £4.13 price tag is just way too expensive for what you get here and in comparison to the cost of other similar books in the genre! I liked Fury and all the new species characters. Fury as the lead Alpha male and the hot scenes between Fury and Ellie were sexy. Despite having read other books with similar DNA splicing, new species creation plots before, I still enjoyed the plot here. However, it does become a bit mundane at times and rambled on a bit. At others times it was just plain boring. For example, once the new species had been rescued, they were taught old fashioned 1950s gender roles, with the males taking on the role of leader's and learning to train to become fighters. While the females were taught how to do boring domesticated chores like vacuuming, cleaning and cooking. It was annoying to read such old fashioned rubbish in a supposed new age book of this genre and one written by a female author to. Those scenes also made for boring reading like I said. It also lacks depth because it's really just set in the modern day world compared to other books in this genre which create a whole new dystopian world. The price was my biggest hang-up. Its just too expensive. I have read similar and better books for free on kindle unlimited and many others I've purchased for half the price of this author's books. Although I did like the new species characters and would have liked continued to read their stories and find out if the plot developes, the books just aren't worth the price at £4.13 per book. £55 is way too much to have to pay to finish a series. So although I did enjoy this, it's not worth the price and I won't be continuing this series. So unfortunately I had to give it 3 stars because of the price and parts that were a little mundane.

Great start to an innovative series
I have read this book so many times and it never gets old. Rereading this book feels like meeting up with an old friend - you can’t help coming away feeling happy and relaxed with a big smile on your face! After an initially traumatic scene, (which is handled carefully by the author), Fury and Ellie’s romance is emotional and at times tear jerking, yet also filled with plenty of amusing moments and witty dialogue. The world building is amazing and totally immersive, with a range of interesting secondary characters deftly woven into the plot. I really can’t recommend it highly enough!

Really enjoyed it
Provocative, Humorous, Steamy, Brilliant!! Each time I read a book by this author I fall a little more in love with her writing. This book is witty and entertaining but also takes the reader to a deeper emotional level, with raw, heartfelt scenes. The characters Ellie and fury are vibrant, complex and meant to be together. They start off rocky, have lots of challenges. But it end with a happy ending.the storyline is riveting and captivating to the point that you'll find yourself reading late into the night just to find out what happens next.from the very first page and held me prisoner until the turn of the very last page!So much more than I expected, hot, steamy, 18 plus. Includes violence & sex mature themes.HEA

New species..
I like this series...Ellie goes in undercover to Mercantile Industries to uncover the atrocities of humans who have been spliced with animal DNA, for example in Fury's case canine, the subjects literally being treated like animals in a testing laboratory.Even in her precarious position she has always been attracted to Fury admiring his quiet defiance from afar and to save his life and hers Ellie has no choice but to abandon him to punishments of her making. Fury feels well fury where Ellie is concerned and vows the next time he sees her he will kill her.If you like Lora Leighs Breed series then you will like this, but no way is it a carbon copy of Leighs work, it is told in a completely different way. If you like your PNR, erotic, passionate, funny, at times edge of seat with an amorous male lead and a practical strong willed female go for it.Ali Ahns brings all the characters to life, how she did all those different male voices I don't know, but I was able to tell the difference between all the characters.I couldn't help but revisit Fury's story this time by audio and pleased I did, a guilty pleasure that didn't disappoint, glad I indulged.

Not so new species
Ellie is undercover within the dangerous Mercile laboratory where they are illegally testing DNA splicing and drugs on human beings, or they were when they were first born. Now after experimentation and gene splicing they are all part animal with that part of them being very prominent.Knowing her mission is to solely gather evidence she tries to avoid her feelings toward to the unconventionally beautiful 416.Tough choices were made but the intel got to her handler and the captives from the Mercile labs were freed and sent to a development solely for their use and rehabilitation. Ellie is determined to ease her guilt over the treatment of the New Species and works with the females at Homeland, her mind always turning to what happened with 416.I enjoyed this book but have very mixed feelings about it. I think what kept my attention was the New Species characters as they were all very like-able and interesting. Ellie however was abit of a martyr for me, always seeming to be either injured or naked! There was alot of near rape scenes with mentioning of previous experiences of it which I thought were completely unnecessary. Ellie herself experiences it on two occasions alone and the first encounter just accepts it because she believes she deserves it?It is very adult content with alot of sexual content but it is well written and tantalizing.I am compelled to try the next in the series as I know it'll be about a new couple who will overcome all obstacles and fall in love, abit predictable now but I want to hear more of the New Species.
