So these were promoted as being for rats also, but they are way too small! Our rats are less than 6 months old, so not huge and the houses are still too small. The rats won't even look at them or chew on them.

It's a little big. The small coconut house was perfect for my hermit crabs. The other two guys were too big. Big enough for hampsters but too small for rats I think. It's was a good value.

Bigger than expected and great quality.

For babies or smaller animals than rats.

2/3 coconuts were broken. Would not buy again.

I've had small mammals for over 20 years, so have seen and used almost every product for them worth using at this point. I bought this because the price for the combo of items was better than buying them individually. The hanging coconut with ladder what the main item I was interested in, and this one is alright. The coconut itself was nice, no splits or cracks, and the inside was cleaned out properly, but knots that hold the hanging rope to the coconut were too small - a little bit of pressure and it pulled the rope right out. A bit of tweeking and retying everything fixed it, but it was a pain. The ladder was tied a bit crooked too, but that was also fixable by taking it apart and reassembling too. The half coconut "hut" is basic but good condition. The hut with the roof on it though? Garbage. Whatever it's mad out of is fluffy and will soak up smells (and other things) super quick, with no way to clean it. The inside walls are dusty and also fuzzy.So, the hanging coconut and the half hut are fine, but throw the other one away, it's trash. And I recommend coating these items liberally with vaseline and letting it soak in for a day, then wiping off with a clean cloth. It will help water proof these toys for your little critter and make them last much longer. :)

Bought for my hamster cage. She doesn’t like to climb up the ladder but the coconuts make niceClutter in her cage and she uses them to hide.

Our hermit crabs like them.

I've had this for almost a year now. Two of the coconuts unfortunately got soiled very badly, and I was unable to save them. But the coconut with the stairs has become on of my girls main sleeping areas. She's a fully grown Syrian hamster.
