Made 4 of these. Good size. Directions were a little hard to follow (I’m a novice) but luckily these had a YouTube video demo to follow. Happy with the final product

I would say I have above basic sewing skills. I have made many things over the years from quilts to costumes and clothes for my kids. Most of the costumes and clothes were made using a Simplicity pattern. I bought this pattern to make a memory bear for my mom in honor of my step-dad. I like that there was not only a pattern for the bear but also a few clothing patterns. I trace my patterns onto thin plastic to help keep the patterns longer but I make sure to transfer all the info onto the plastic. I used a pair of his favorite pj bottoms to make the bear so the material had a little stretch to it. The bear turned out lovely except for the feet. I couldn't understand how I was supposed to match up the patterns to get the foot on the bottom of the leg. I don't feel like the instructions were clear enough and I feel like there could have been a much easier way to do the leg/feet pattern. I did my best but the feet still looked horrible. Lucky for me, I was also making a shirt out of his favorite shirt so I made some small black socks to hide the feet. Mom has never seen the feet lol The socks and the durag in the picture were not a pattern included with the package.

Pattern is confusing, not for beginner I’m an experienced seamstress and the feet on this pattern is terrible. I made adjustments to make it work.

I received my pattern in excellent condition. I was able to put it all together EXCEPT for piece 11. The instructions are not clear at all and the picture does not help. I've searched the internet for the instructions and a tutorial as to how to add piece 11 but I have not found anything for it. It is getting very frustrating. Almost ready to make a completely different pattern for the legs and use it instead. If anyone would be willing to guide me as to how to use this piece, I'd be forever grateful. I'm trying to get it right so I can make memory bears for some friends who have lost loved ones. The bear pattern I use, when I make the memory bears for Home Health and Hospice, is a very simple pattern with just two pieces. I prefer this pattern, if I can get the feet right.

I bought this pattern five years ago and had mislaid it until last week. I'd made dolls before, but never a bear and chose this design because of its old-fashioned charm. I have to agree with other customers with the pattern being a little tricky, particularly the top of the feet, which I had to sew on by undoing the inside legs seams. It took the whole day, but I eventually managed to finish a lovely bear in Disney fabric and look forward to making more with different materials in much less time! If you're a beginner, I'd advise that you watch Youtube videos on bear making, specifically one using a similar pattern to this and make a practice bear from scraps to learn from any frustrating mistakes. I stuck the pattern onto some craft card to make it more durable, especially as I intend to make a few. In all, a nostalgically designed pattern at a good price.
