Excellent for young readers
A must read for the younger Enid Blyton fans. My 6 year old daughter literally devours these books! The book arrived in excellent time,in pristine condition. This is the second book in the "The Enchanted Wood " series and contains the familiar characters like Jo,Bessie and Fanny (the three children) and of course Moonface,Saucepan man,Dame Wash a lot etc along with the children's cousin Rick , who joins them in their new adventures into the strange lands at the top of the Faraway tree.It is an excellent book for imaginative children who are becoming proficient in reading English. If your child is more into action and graphics, this may not be the best book!

A very good book to read. It is important for you to know the parts before this one so that this book is more interesting 🙂

Enid Blyton is the best storyteller for kids...
My son loves Enid Blyton's way of storytelling very much. Her language is very simple yet very attractive. The facts in her stories are exciting yet not very extraordinary. So I decided to read to him all the 5 books of "The Enchanted Wood" series.

Still great despite PC corrections
I feel its a shame that somewhere a decision was made to update Enid Blyton. I think it says more about the censors that Dick has become Rick and Fanny has been similarly altered. Im pretty sure no child of the age it is aimed at would be aware of any other interpretations that may be put on what are normal names. Maybe John and Thomas are no longer allowed either?

Imaginative read
My favorite childhood book. Sharing it with another generation is a great pleasure. It is a lovely, funny book to read to a child. I prefer the original British version before it got changed for modern times. Jo, Bessie and Fanny…. I remember my Mother reading this one to me. Love it.

My children are enthralled and I enjoy reading aloud
My children aged 3 and 7 years adore this series of books. My eldest daughter can read independently, but these stories are still a little 'wordy' for her at this stage. I started reading one chapter at bedtime each night, but the fast paced and exciting story line means that the children are always eager to read more. The characters encounter new and exciting lands above the faraway tree in each chapter, their clever thinking means they escape unscathed every time. Adventure, lessons and happy endings... perfect for this age group. I love seeing my children engage with these stories and it has encouraged them to be more imaginative in their own play and storytelling.
