Does the job
Inexpensive. Sturdy. Generally good design. Typical installation. As others have mentioned, if the receptacle wire is yanked on for some reason, all the tension is on the wire connections, in my case, the wire was slightly smaller than the opening in the receptacle. I wrapped a little electrical tape around the wire just below the connections before re-assembly to assure a tight fit putting any tension on the wire and not the connections.

Well built, but...
Listed for use with 18 gauge wire but fit is too loose and requires something to hold wire securely. Otherwise very good.

Easy to hook up
Only needed one but don’t mind having some on hand. Worked well and easy to install repairing expensive commercial grade Christmas light string

UPDATE: The seller reached out to me offering to replace the plugs with a new set or refund half my money. Good customer service; they suggested this package might have been a "return" and that happens sometimes. They missed the point - somehow these were manufactured incorrectly in the first place. Had I not tested them I could have continued to use them with potentially bad consequences. Three of ten replacement ports being wrong and unsafely usable is not good percentages. Buyers should examine each plug/receptacle closely before installation - with or without a refund (which they did graciously provide). Doesn't change my star review, or my warning. This package of replacement plugs and receptacles was not worth my hassle to save a few bucks. Time? Time is money. This is the first time I have ever attempted to change the ends of my outdoor extensions cords, EXCEPT that over the years my hedge clippers made lunch out of most of them (nasty critters) and I wasn't about to replace four 100' cords. I could have driven to the local hardware store, but I was ordering some other supplies from Amazon, saw these and figured I would save myself some time and money. I am a 65 year old woman with 65 year old hands, so fine motor skills can be challenging. Wouldn't have been so bad if the covers would have gone back on without needing a hammer to set the deal. Before you blame it one my hands, I had my younger brother come over to give me a hand and even he struggled. "That's what you get for trying to save some money buying generic goods" he said. I kept plugging - literally for days - 3,4 ends in a night til my hands seized up (I don't give up easily). But the end for me was when I tested them at completion and got the 'hot and neutral reversed' message. WTH? My OCD failed me!??!? Took them apart, checked my colors to be sure they matched the instructions, all good. Then I realized, not all of the female receptacles looked the same. That's because quality control is apparently non-existent at this company. Slots were reversed on half the female ends (see pic). SO I still had to make a run to the local hardware store to make my cords right. Buyer beware, and heads up - check yours before you invest time on a project that will not be safely functional. SMH

Seriously? Run!!!
Why do some people feel the need to re-invent the wheel? That's EXACTLY what these cord ends are. The best way to connect the wires to the copper ends would most likely be to solder them. Of course, the design is such that they think that you will simply be able to wrap your wire around the VERY tiny screws. Anyone who's ever replaced a cord end knows that as soon as you tighten the screws, you will be separating the wire strands...a BIG no-no. I put very tiny washers on the screws so that tightening the screws will create a more uniform pressure. There is, like someone else said, a bit of oompf required to re-assemble this if you're using heavier wire. The tried and true design that's been around for decades works just fine. There was no need to create a style like this. I will NEVER leave this cord out of my sight as I still don't really trust the connections. Cord ends are actually quite expensive but I only used 1 out of a 2 pack of these ends and I will be throwing away the "perfectly good" other one. Best of luck!!!
