I was able to identify found egg!
I ordered this book after finding an unfamiliar bird egg in my yard. After looking thru the identification books available thru Amazon I finally settled on this one. I am totally satisfied!

Just What I Needed
I find many bird nests "post" season, and I like to collect them. I was always told that birds will not go back to an old nest, but thanks to this book I learned that that is not the case across the board! I really bought this to ID what nests I was finding (Long Island, NY), but this is a great read chock full of extra info!

Hundreds of People Helped Make This Book
I've always been partial to Peterson Field Guides, and this book is no exception. How amazing is it to not only find all these nests, but then to be able to photograph them! The Acknowledgments chapter tells us about the hundreds of people who contributed to this major project. They will certainly be excused for not finding or, maybe, not being able to access the nest of the Cerulean Warbler, a treetop bird. The extra chapters such as the one on Avian Architecture are valuable. One additional feature of this book are the extra photos of nests taken from below or from the side. I have always wondered how it is possible to find nests of practically every species. Somehow, somebody found a way.

Great book
The media could not be loaded. It’s a nice book to have to identify nests if you find one without the bird nearby. I would recommend reviewing the Photo captions and credits page numbers in the back because I think they’re off a bit and possibly adding the bird identification to the photo page as well.

Very complete accounts of each species' nest
I haven't used this book much yet, but it has many more species and appears to have a lot more detailed information than the old Peterson Field Guides "Eastern Birds' Nests" (1975). (But the Peterson book has wonderful little drawings of each species by Ned Smith!)

Excellent!
This is an amazing resource. Whether you're interested in getting better at reading animal tracks and sign, or in becoming a more informed and versatile birder, or in providing a visually engaging book with stellar photographs for your children to love to pieces while they try to figure out their place in what's left of the natural world, this book will exceed your expectations. Well researched, well written, well organized, and well, awesome. If I were you, and I thought I might need this, I would snap it up. (Wait. That's what I did).

Terrific source of supplemental information for Birders
As birders, we rely on many clues to help ID birds. Not just field marks but range, location, habitat, songs, ect. This guide adds a new dimension by helping us to better understand bird behaviour during nesting season and how to interpret the physical clues (nests, eggshells) left behind after everyone is gone. It is very North America centric so those from other countries may not get much out of it.

EXCELLENT!
An excellent work! Whether in North America or anywhere else in the world, it is really informative and relevant. The family accounts are a favourite feature, Chapter 1 & 2 provide a great background and foundation. I'm finding some species & genus also applicable here in Europe.
