couldn’t put this book down
From the beginning to the end it will keep you reading. Decker never gives up. Harlow and her crew are always there to help, and Pierce stands by Decker. With the two border agents killed in book one and it was never resolved, the cartels in Mexico and not really knowing for sure that Harcourt is in Mexico Decker just never gives up.I’m starting to read book three of the series and I’m sure it will be really good

Good book
Good novel, it's full of action and some suspense. I would give a 4.5 rating if I could. I recommend.

Here we go again!
Continuing where The Rescue left off, The Raid is the second book in the Ryan Decker series. You do need to read The Rescue in order to know exactly what is going on in this novel.Steven Konkoly is a master when it comes to military/thriller based novels, and this one is no different. It appears that some folks took issue with the amount of "foul language" in The Rescue, based on reviews, which caused them to give lower starred ratings. Apparently, these folks have never been in the military, been around military, nor ever been in any situation similar to Decker and Company. Oh fudge, just doesn't cut it.However, because Konkoly is such an awesome guy, he did cut back on the language quite a bit in this novel. It's there, but it is quite reduced. To remain true to the "former" military life, there are still witty, smart-assed comebacks and nicknames to make your day, if you're into that kind of thing; and this reviewer is. KILLER BEE is nowhere near as funny as the previous call sign guys, just saying.Getting back to the story, it's fantastic. There are some spit-your-drink-out one liners, a tiny bit of romance (don't worry guys and gals, it won't make you gag), thrills and chills to keep your heart pumping, and the patented dry humor between Decker and Pierce that hopefully, you've come to expect and love.If you're disappointed, honestly, I don't know what to tell you.Decker and his team are back, this time, investigating what may be human trafficking at the US/Mexico border. Border Patrol agents, on regular patrol, happen across something they are not meant to see; in a military exclusion zone where they are not supposed to be. What appears to be immigrants, crossing the border, except, they aren't Hispanic. They are European children. The agents are murdered, and the bunker in the area is blown to pieces immediately. One agent manages to get out one last transmission that is heard over the agency frequency. This information gets to Senator Steele, who you'll recognize from The Rescue. Anything related to possible human trafficking is an automatic investigation for Steele, and involving Decker and his team is a no-brainer.But with the border, and trafficking, nothing is what it seems. Harcourt, a player from the original novel, and nemesis extraordinaire for Decker and Steele, may be involved. The stakes are higher than anyone could imagine. Decker and his team must play their cards right, and use everything at their disposal, including all that Senator Steele can offer them, in order to make it through whatever lies ahead. If intense action, suspense, conspiracy, fire fights, and thrills are your favorite type of books then this is the series for you.

Great Read... Exciting
The author has quickly become one of my favorites. Decker lives in a world that others cannot grasp. Edge of your seat excitement.

#2, another great one !
The Ryan Decker books have pulled me in as quickly as Jack Reacher did. It's like having a second life inside my old kindle. Keep it up !

Book 2 in the series
This book starts where the first one ended. Decker and the rest of the team continue to hunt for the bad guys. A great story.

A good read.
I don't know about you, I like to follow an author who will keep the main character in the front of the story.

Another Konkoly winner.
The art of story telling is a gift given to few. The Raid epitomises the talent of this author to engage and transport the reader into his fictional world. The magic part is you believe it is all true. Highly recommended.

A New Action Star in the Action Thrillers
Number Two in the series, Ryan Decker a new name in the action thriller Books.A Border Patrol murder exposes a high-level conspiracy in USA Today bestselling author Steven Konkoly’s explosive thriller, and the return of action star Ryan Decker. After exposing and dismantling a deep-state conspiracy that nearly destroyed his life, Ryan Decker finds his covert skills have put him on the radar of influential Senator Steele. But when they’re caught in an ambush, Decker realizes they’ve stumbled onto something far more dangerous than any of them understood. The cover-up is rooted deep in the Department of Defense itself. Fearful for their own lives and unable to trust anyone outside their small circle of skilled associates, Decker and Harlow set in motion a risky plan to stop a criminal conspiracy. After exposing and dismantling a deep-state conspiracy that nearly destroyed his life, Ryan Decker finds his covert skills have put him on the radar of influential Senator Steele. Well everything.Enjoyed this book, not quite as strong as the first, but not much in it. Four stars

Harlow is inspirational
The story can be read as a stand alone however it does pick up from 'The Rescue'.It is a great mix of shoot outs, painful walks, stakeouts and geek techie backroom antics that move the story of greedy politicians, drug cartels, human (children) trafficking and bribe taking people and their downfall thanks to a fantastic team of geeks and military action people lead by an inspirational female Harlow and her key action men Ryan and Pierce.I really liked all the positive characters in this book but felt inspired by the females Harlow, Kate, Anne and the Senator. Thanks Linda.

Shock and awe.
With barely time to catch your breath between the set pieces, this is top drawer escapism. Decker makes for an extremely likeable lead character. His tight knit band know all the tricks but that doesn’t mean that the tension isn’t at breaking point.A plot taking in drug cartels and crooked senators; the storyline couldn’t be more topical. Couple that with sophisticated weaponry and hardware that may or may not already be active in theatres of war and you have a sequel that is every bit as blood pumping as the opener. Plenty of humour, nice short chapters and unrelenting momentum make this a must read for your next adrenaline hit.

2.5lbs of pressure!
That's about the same pressure required to shut down my iPad, strangely enough reading this latest wild unrelenting tale left me unable to find or indeed want to find the strength to shut it down!I love reading dynamic stories like this one, a roller coaster of action and suspense. At the same time Ryan Decker shows all the traits of being human, love, pain, anguish and the full gambit of internal struggles we all deal with daily, but he's lucky as he gets to vent all of this with his Glock 17, which he does with vigor. This was another excellently weaved story Steven which was truly enthralling and exciting.Kind regards from ScotlandKenny HunterBearsdenGlasgow

What a let down
I thoroughly enjoyed the first one in this series but this one... I thought I was supposed to be reading an action thriller not schoolgirl romance where the main female character is working on getting the main male character to get over the loss of his wife and son so they can hook up. This after a few chapters. I deleted the book and will not be buying any more in the series. If I wanted romance that is what I would have bought. Most disappointed.
