Fossilized are different but an important addition to the Transformer Universe
At first I didn't know what to think about the fossilizers, but after purchasing this it made up my mind. One thing I was worried about was if they would be flimsy. Getting this in my hand quickly assured me there nothing to worry about. I was also worried that the way they transform from one mode to the other was too gimmicky and and just too different from the other transformers. I quickly realized that this was a really clever new way to handle the transforming process and best of all, it allows parts of different characters be combined to create new creatures and robots with so many combinations no one could ever get to all of them. I am very happy i took a chance with this character because now I have a new kind of transformer to add to my collection.

Fossilizer
Wingfinger is the 3rd fossilizer of Kingdom, which means that, besides going from Pteranodon skeleton to Robot and back, it can be repurposed into weapons for other figures of the line to wield. That would be worth its price by itself, but it comes with the hidden combiner head for those that want to make mix ups with Ractonite and Paleotrex (or weaponizer and base-formers from the previous 2 sets of figures).Downside would be its small face, limited articulations, and that beak that seems about to snap half the time...

A Lot Of Fun, Necessary Piece Of The Puzzle
Let's get the necessary part out of the way, first of all...When you have all three of the Fossilizers (Paleotrex, Ractonite, and now Wingfinger) you can combine all three into a Leader-Class-Sized robot. (There's no official name, at this time.) This is not in the instructions, but it does exist and you can see the combined form in a Hasbro Pulse live stream on YouTube. (The designer, Mark, unveils it.) You cannot form this combiner without having one of each Fossilizer. Yes, you can make your own from multiples of the previous two, but the actual designer intended robot needs all three Fossilizers to make it work. Now that that's out of the way...Wingfinger is one of those really odd figures where you like it but you can't really put your finger on it as to why. The alt-mode is adorable with that ridiculously big head (which is accurate to the real creature, it just looks awesomely ridiculous here) and it's even posable! (He can perch, "fly", and all of the appendages seem to be rather articulated for a beast mode.) Not gonna lie, the beast mode head makes him look like Alec Baldwin in Beetlejuice. (Also a selling point. lol)The transformation is probably the easiest of all the Fossilizers. While this one breaks down into a bunch of parts much as they do, the other two basically have everything come apart and it feels unnecessary. Especially in the case of Ractonite. She has her horns popping off (and getting them back on in the right manner is a pain in the butt.) and everything else coming apart as well. Paleotrex has that creepy Knight head that pops off and so on... Fortunately, Wingfinger is pretty straightforward. Nothing ridiculous in the breakdown, the combiner head is hidden in the beak, and the transformation is only a few steps in any direction. The robot mode is a tad scrawny... Kinda weird, in a way, but it makes sense because they sorta sacrificed robot mode for beast and combined mode. (You'll see what I mean when you finally combine 'em.) That might be the biggest problem... the sacrifice of the robot mode. It's a bit odd-looking in the torso area. Everything's so thin and wispy (visually, not in terms of construction, this thing is solid) it just looks odd. (You get used to it.)Honestly, Wingfinger is probably my favorite of the Fossilizers. I'm not the biggest fan of beastformers, never have been, never will be. I've tried, just not my cup of tea. (That said, Kingdom remakes of Beast Wars characters have been FANTASTIC and are must-buys. Especially Dinobot, Primal, and Rattrap.) What makes it worse is I wasn't a super big fan of Weaponizers and how they broke down to transform, so you take that and beasts/dinosaur skeletons and it's a double "meh" in my book. However, Wingfinger and the combined mode fixed a lot of that for me. The Fossilizers now have a purpose other than being wave filler for each assortment. I have more appreciation for them, now.I do recommend buying Wingfinger, you absolutely should complete the trio so you can make the robot. (It's seriously tall, like old school Leader Class. Roughly 9-10 inches tall and then some.) Plus, it's a fun figure in its own right.

It's a imaginative toy with the playability it provides.
The media could not be loaded. It's an awesome toy as it looks like skeleton of a pterodactyl and then a ninja samurai looking robot and it's pretty durable as it is ment to come apart and make weapons for others so well worth the money as it offers a lot of imaginative play value

Meant to be fiddly, Very fun to disassemble and combine with the other fossilizers.
Wingfinger has the silliest name of the Fossilizers in kingdom so far, but it’s an awesome skeletal figure in both Pterosaur and robot modes, sleek and ninja like and fun to pose. Surprisingly fun to combine the loose pieces with Paleotrex and Ractonite’s own to form new wild combiners.

Great for Little Builders
We have this product along with the triceratops and t-rex in the series and my boys LOVE taking them all apart and rearranging them together. Highly recommend for kids that love to build, as well as fans of the transformers franchise. These are some of our favorites
