A Year Later & Holding Up Well
These are very sheer and thin. The pockets are NOT lined. So they are mesh (holes) on one side of each pocket and the cheap poly liner as the other side of each pocket. Not likely to hold up well. If you carry more weight in your rear or have large thighs, there's plenty of room. As another reviewer mentioned, the draw string and other aspects make these good for losing or gaining weight. I purchased the Maroon, Black, and Navy, and really like the Maroon because the color looks black at certain angles and deep Maroon at other angles. Overall these are pretty cheap and I wouldn't recommend. If shorts have pockets they should be lined. You should be able to put your keys in them without fear of tearing a hole in the mesh.***UPDATE 6/18/2017***Last year after purchasing 3 pair, I was mostly satisfied but found them a bit thin. What changed? A year later and all pairs held up quite well so I just got the Steel/light grey pair. These are what you'd call a relaxed fit short with an inseam of exactly 9 inches.Where these will hit your knee really depends on your weight and how high or low you like to wear 'em. They're still sheer so I wear mine like basketball players over tights. One difference this year would be the shorter drawstring, which is fine as the elastic holds them up well. The logo on the side of the short used to be a cheap heat transfer which peeled off. Now there's an embroidered logo giving these a bit more class. I absolutely would recommend. With 4 pairs of these I'm now poised for world domination.

Great customer service and great shorts
I don't usually review items promptly but the customer service is something to talk about. I ordered a size L and they sent me an M. The paper tag said L but the actual tag on the shorts said M so the mix-up was understandable. I ordered a size L a second time so they would arrive on time for my boyfriend's birthday and emailed amazon about returning the size M. I heard back right away from the seller and was told that my money will be refunded and that I do not have to go through the hassle of returning the shorts. The new shorts that were correctly labeled size L on both tags came in today and they are great. The Texas Orange is a beautiful burnt copper color and I couldn't be happier about it. The shorts themselves are long which is great because my boyfriend is 6ft 4 and has trouble with basketball shorts being too short sometimes, but these will look great on him. The pockets are a big plus because he likes to have a place to put his keys and phone when he goes out. The elastic on the shorts is really strong but very stretchy meaning that they will be comfortable but won't fall down. What I loved the most about the shorts is how thin the material is. My boyfriend gets very sweaty and always complains about shorts being 'too hot' but these are so airy and light that I think he will love them. I will be ordering in more colors after I get his take on these shorts.

and are very comfortable. I did not regret making this purchase and ...
When I received these shorts, they had no string inside for the waist and did not even have a logo on either side of the shorts. Even though those were simply minor problems, I was concerned I was getting something that I did not pay for. When I actually put on the shorts, it was a completely different story. They felt soft, and the material was strong, they were stretchy, and are very comfortable. I did not regret making this purchase and would be glad to make this purchase again.

I like em.
These are a solid pair of shorts. First time I've ever bought from Russell and while I buy these shorts on an "as needed" basis without thought to brand, I'm certainly glad I gave Russell their first shot.Pros1. I bought the green and it's a nice, deep, dark green. Good color.2. The fit was good. After reading the reviews I ordered a Large (I'm usually between a Large and Extra Large depending on the maker) and these fit fine. They shrunk a little but I don't need the waist tie to keep them on so that's a plus.3. The fabric is nice and soft, light and airy. I could run a mile in these or just lounge around the house in them.Cons1. None yet, I guess some people have had durability problems so I'll update if these shorts happen to fall apart.Something I've noticed, though, is that I wash my cloths on a gentle spin cycle. Especially articles of clothing with thin/light fabric like these. They're not too thin but they do breathe really well and they are nearly weightless when wearing them. But anyway, if you're putting these in with your jeans and washing them in the same, rough cycle as your jeans these are probably going to fall to pieces. Wash them like you'd wash your bed linens and they should remain fine. I'd buy them again.

Baggy
I'm 5' 10'', 32'' waist, 160 lbs, medium size thighs. I ordered a medium size for jogging. They were baggy to the point of looking like a skirt almost. Plus the crotch area seemed way saggy. I will also confirm that it goes a little below the knee in length. Maybe some people like the baggy style? Perhaps it's more comfortable or better ventilated that way. I myself will pass. Returned them.

Weak Waistband String
I put these on, and wore them once. ONCE. I'm not an overly large man, but I'm not small either, and I like to tie my string tight.Well, the string is sewn in the back, and is a loop in the front. So, I promptly cut the string so I could actually tie it. When I tried to tighten the string in the waistband string, it pulled out of where it was sewn in the back. Why do companies insist on sewing a string into a waistband instead of having it, oh.... I don't know.... wrap all the way around you? Shorts that have the tie sewn in the back suck. These are shorts one of those.

Falling apart after first wash
I purchased these because it's nice to have shorts with pockets. First time I washed them there was lose thread in the washing machine and some pulling off the shorts. They were coming apart already!! I had knee surgery and was pretty much stuck in the house for 6 weeks so I wore them during this time as I really didn't care that much. But cant wear them out anywhere as they are falling apart. O k for yard work I guess. Was pretty disappointed. Russell sweatshirts are usually put together pretty good but not these. Won't buy again.
