You have to snip the guides off on each side to fit on my Ford Explorer, but other than that they are great.

This will not work for a Stihl FS 40C trimmer. Description says it will fit Stihl weed eater. The shaft is too long on this model. It’s made for short shaft weed eaters.

Lasted two seasons. The center plastic cover wore down, and the light grey handle with the alignment marks only lasted about three re-spools after that. It is now worn about even with the main cover. I have had to disassemble the head a few times in order to re-spool, which kinda defeated the whole idea of having the "autowinder". Also, winding the string did become difficult a few times, which required taking the head apart and spraying some silicone spray lubricant to get it working smoothly again. It was nice when it worked, but required more maintenance than I think it should have, and didn't last nearly as long as I expected it to.

I wish I would have known about these things sooner. The head on my 20v DeWalt was a pain to restring, but this is a piece of cake. Mounting was easy. No extra parts were needed.
