Be prepared to be frustrated- cheap plastic
I really wanted to like this, which i bought to do with my 2 yr old granddaughter who LOVES plants! I bought used which came with no seeds, not deal breaker as i had prepared for this. But this totally reminds me of some junk plant project you'd find at a dollar store. Which is not worth much more than $1. Price aside-the assembled of this plastic junk was enough for me to want to return it. There is no clear assembly instructions which by looking at it unpackaged didnt seem difficult but let me tell you….nothing seems to really fit or stay. I had to put it aside & will try again another day. For now it just sits in the “to do” pile :(

Just the plastic - you need seeds and soil too
DOES NOT CONTAIN SOIL OR SEEDSThis kit is just the plastic bits. It’s a great idea to watch, but you need to germinate a seed (they say red bean or white bean) and have soil to plant it in. That means you have ~1-2 weeks before you need this kit.I’m still excited by it / excited to use it as a science experiment with the kids, but it will take more time and effort before we can get started

Don't waste your money...
I have been saving this for "camp" for my kid this summer. We just tried it today and to my dismay, my return window closed two days ago... really quite a shame because this is the biggest waste of money. First of all, it doesn't come with any seeds to plant. So you're expected to use your own "beans" and germinate them. So after we excitedly opened this ready to go, we learned we couldn't do anything with it anyway! Then, when we tried to put it together, the pieces we so flimsy and worthless - we could barely make it work. I should have taken $12 and burned it in my fireplace or flushed it down the toilet because that would have been quicker. If this were slightly more expensive, I'd probably be making a stink and demanding my money back...
