Very capable camera with very useful features.
I am loving my Amcrest camera. While this isn't classified as an outdoor camera I have installed it under the eave of my house so it is protected from direct rain and other weather. Now I have a great view of my front yard and with the PTZ (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) function I can move it to view any where in front of my house and zoom in where I choose. I use this to monitor my house and using this camera I can see if I have packages waiting at my front door. The Power over Ethernet is a specific function I wanted as this allows me to have a wired network connection for reliability along with only having to run one cable to the camera. Non-POE cameras require that a power cord be run to the camera and wireless can suffer from dropouts and could potentially be hacked by others. The camera gives me clear video and also includes a speaker and microphone. With my placement of it on the eave of the house the speaker function is not feasible but I enjoy that I can turn the microphone on or off to hear what is going on outside as well. This is a very good camera that setup easily and provides great video.

AWESOME CAMERA! I have over 10 of these cameras around my home and other property.
The media could not be loaded. Very nice IP Camera. I have several of these and they are awesome!Ultra clear and bright video camera. I trust these cameras so much, that I have installed them at my other rental property to keep an eye on the outdoor landscaping.I also use them indoor - as well as OUTDOOR under my soffits, and they have been working really well. I know these weren't built for outdoor but I like to mount them on the outside corners of my home so that I can use the Pan-Tilt feature to look around the corners if needed.Watch my video and see where I have them mounted and how I monitor them with the Blue Iris Software. They work really well with the Blue Iris Monitoring and Recording Software. I have had most of my cameras from Amcrest for over a year now, and I purchased more this year.

Using as a baby monitor
I don't know if it's just the WiFi in my house - even though we can stream to and from our phones just fine - but I've never found a WiFi baby monitor that doesn't have terrible connectivity issues, maybe because they all make you do HTTP tunneling through their own service? Our house is wired for Ethernet, but all of the baby monitors are WiFi. This is just about the only Ethernet camera I could find that also had the ability to look around the entire baby's room (pan/tilt in this case) and had built-in two-way audio. Plus it's PoE, which is just convenient. (You'll need a PoE injector if you want to go this route, FYI, but it lets you run only one cable to the camera instead of two.)I made the mistake of using the Amcrest Cloud app, first. Don't do it! It uses HTTP tunneling, is slow and unresponsive like all the other baby cams I used. Switched to the Amcrest View Pro app, and suddenly everything snapped into place. Awesome picture, very responsive and easy to use over my home network. In lieu of using the cloud service, I needed to configure my router with port forwarding and a DDNS provider so I can access the router outside my home network. It's a bit of a pain (especially if you want to run multiple cameras), but worth it. Your techie friend can probably help you with this if you aren't up to it.It can be hard to find what you're looking for in the web console, but it's all there if you go digging for it. Be sure to check the tabs within individual setup pages for more options. One mistake I made was installing it upright. You probably don't want to do this unless you're mounting it on the floor, because it can't tilt down past the horizontal level. I had to change the mounting to be upside-down on the ceiling, then flip and mirror the image in the settings. That gets me a bird's eye view of the entire room.My biggest complaint is that it's fairly noisy when it pans or tilts, much more so than the other baby monitor camera I had. It won't be noticeable at night with a sound machine on, though.I'm happy enough that I'm immediately buying two more to use for security purposes inside my house.

Well designed and feature rich quality
The Amcrest 1080P camera is very reliable and provides clear picture quality. I tested this camera with both their phone App and on an NVR solution. The NVR does not have the same capabilities as the phone App. There were several features not available for the NVR and that is what I didn't like. Maybe there will be a patch for the firmware on the Amcrest NVR. Their technical support is very helpful and responsive!Overall I would recommend the product and several people have made these purchases. They are happy as well. The installation needs to be more clear on setup on troubleshooting for a beginner.I am buying more of these cameras and a few POE versions for outdoors.
