Great workmanship but this mod would make it better in my opinion
Works great if your bare handed, but no one Tig welds without gloves on. With gloves on, it's tricky to get traction on the "o" ring wheel to advance the rod 100% of the time as the wheel is so tiny. I pushed the pin out of the wheel and made a larger "o" ring feed wheel on my lathe and it works much, much, better. you can see the difference in sizes in the attached picture. I didn't have to enlarge the slot the wheel goes in as it fit perfect in the large slot without opening it on a mill. I can't for the life of me figure why they did not use a larger wheel as it does work so much better....

Im not easily impressed!!! But...
This device is simply amazing... Especially for long runs...feed an entire rod without stopping. I believe that any tig welder should learn to feed rod by hand... I also believe that we all buy tools to make certain tasks easier. This is one of those tools. Slicker than cat Shingles!!Leave your ego in the car!! Try one of these!!! You wont regret it!! I dont write many reviews...and No I dont know the owners of this product. Its like learning how to play an acoustic guitar....Hand fed rod. Then playing an electric...This tool! Learn how to hand feed then buy one of these... Not perfect for every situation but very nice to have in your bag!!!Avery. Raleigh ,NC

Oooh is silver. LOL
For 3/32 and 1/8 filler works great. For 1/16 filler you will need to use the oring roller side to feed filler. Works as intended. Good unit. Buy 3 and color coat as to not cross contaminate.

Nice tool
The tool works ok but if you have a bend in your filler wire all bets are off also takes some getting use to but I'm not giving up on it I think it will work good once I get the hang of it

You won't be sorry
Went back and forth on buying this thing or not and I'm glad I finally did. I'm a hobbyist so I don't have to face the scrutiny I might if I brought this into a fab shop or did production work, but after burning through pounds of filler trying to perfect the finger feed technique, I decided to swallow my pride and get this. Easy to use, fits variety of sizes, complete control. Don't need another one but if mine ever wears out, I'll be back

Instant Skill!
Just finished welding up an aluminum gas tank. This thing is amazing! Purists might hate it, tell you to practice more, or whatever, but this is great. I don't have time to practice filler rod feeding. I have a day job, a side business, 2 little kids, 2 dogs, a house to take care of, and a few project cars. I'm decent at the welding part, the rod feeding part was holding me back. Don't work harder, work smarter. I could do 18" seams in thin sheet all in one go. Would buy again!!

Bad O-Rings
This is a good tool but the o-rings break quickly. There are 3 o-rings. All three of mine have broken. Just one breaks and the tool is useless. The main one on the body is easy to replace. The other 2 smaller ones are installed with a press-fit pin that has to be pressed back out. It's in an area with very little aluminum surrounding the hole, so it would be easy to destroy getting it out. They could've easily designed this with a small allen screw to make replacement much easier. Especially considering that the rings don't last!!!! I'm in the process of redesigning mine so I can replace the 2 small rings without destroying the rest of the pen. Good idea but incredibly stupid selection of materials and that pin is a joke.

Only used it a few times, but love it so far. Faster learning removing that movement.
OK, your not TIG welding daily so your really not that good are you? Got everything REALLY clean and you still suck? Practice, concentration and coordination is all it takes. Easy to learn right? NOT. Should you learn to smoothly advance the filler wire while you keep that exact stand off distance and dab dab dab in perfect rhythm (if you got your settings right ;-) Sure you should learn that and you will. Yes all experienced TIG welders out there will laugh at your TIG pen finger. Let em laugh as you will learn faster having one awkward movement eliminated from the process as you learn without stopping to regrip your filler wire. Now if I could just eliminate dipping my tungsten ;-)
