The ink does not last long.. unacceptable. Is this regular?

I’ve been partial to Epson inkjet printers for over twenty years. This is the worst for ink not lasting! I have the Epson XP-4100 printer and cannot recommend it as a buy. I suspect this is Epson plan to get people to buy the ECOtank printers. I know one person who owns one and he says the ink lasts a very long time. Unfortunately, they are expensive. I suggest that if you print lots of text you buy a Brother Monochrome Laser Printer. I have two. One was $100 and it prints hundreds of text pages before needing to replace the toner cart. And aftermarket toner is half or less than the Brother toner. And it’s auto-duplex printing. I’ve had the first since about 2006. It’s an office grade and size laser printer and still going strong. But it’s only used for non-business.

Does the Durabrite ink work in the Epson expression 5100 aeries? I only see 4100 everywhere i look

I dont know but I wont buy another epson ever, I was printing a shipping label and the printer auto loaded firmware and said my ink was to low and I ended up having to drive 1 hour the next day to buy a replace cartage, Grrrrrrr I HATE this company, Never again.

How many pages can I print with black ink

I am not sure, but I was able to print 72 pages over a 2 day period before it stopped printing altogether. After I installed the ink, it was only about 80% full instead of 100%.

Why does the ink disappear so fast ?

It seem like a thinner version of ink then the xl version of ink.
