ADATA UV131 32GB USB 3.0 Metallic Texture & Easy-to-go Flash Drive, Grey (AUV131-32G-RGY)

I bought 2 of these based on price and that they are USB 3. They feel as they will be very rugged and durable on the outside. I give only 4 stars because it is a VERY snug fit into the USB port and that stylish VERY smooth finish also makes the drive a bit tricky to remove from the port with such a tight fit. My intended use is to load them with portable programs and recovery utilities and they should work well for that.Noticeably faster than my 2.0 flash drives. Would also be good for carrying for favorite music and/or pictures. Expect a snug fit with such a smooth surface can be a little work removing them from the USB port.

I have bent every USB drive I have ever owned. To remedy that, I bought these. All metallic construction, these are made for the roughness your keys go through on a daily basis. Mine stays on my keychain. It's so small, I almost forget it's there but when I need it, I'm glad it's there. It is USB 3.0 and 16GB. It arrived fast and pre formatted to NTFS. Awesome thing about these for media files is that if you play files from these for a long period of time, the metal dissipates the heat fast compared to other plastic constructed USB drives. They are chic looking as well. Form meets function, on a budget.

Works great, seems fast and reliable.Light weight, barely feel it on my lanyard. Quality construction.The only downside is that it tarnishes very quickly. I have a key shaped, silver usb drive from a different manufacturer on the same lanyard. On day one, they were just about the same shade of silver. Weeks later, the key shaped drive looks like new, while the ADATA unit looks like very tarnished pewter. I actually like the look, but people who bought it for appearance may be disappointed.I'd buy again, but the tarnish doesn't bother me.Update: 1/19/2016Well, this drive started to give me occasional problems a few months ago, where it would suddenly stop being recognized by Windows as a valid drive. I tried multiple usb 3.0 ports and it just will occasionally drop out. Tonight, this problem became severe, as I can't use the drive for more than 5-10 minutes, often less. Luckily, I purchased an even small, more tarnish resistant drive from Transcend a few months ago and was using it as a backup to this drive, in case it finally quit on me.I've inspected the connectors and there is no issue I can see. I've tried plugging it in firmly, no change.I noticed that the drive seems to be getting very hot after a few minutes of file transfers, the smaller Transcend drive does not show any heat issues. I'm wondering if there might not be some sort of short or other issue causing this thumb drive to overheat?Not really worth pursuing warranty service at this point, time to trash it and move on.I would no longer recommend this drive.

Perfect for the Clonezilla backup solution that I use.

Pros: Damn near everythingCons: Left side of USB connector is...too wide? Plugging the drive into USB ports scratched off the nice metallic paint finish on the left side of the connector. It doesn't affect the usability of the drive, but it just seems weird. The left side of the connector on my drive is now clearly showing a scrape area and the paint is chipping off.

small, fits on a keychain without being bulky, and works as advertised.4 stars and not 5 for initial use problem - it was a really tight fit at first to plug in. almost thought I wasn't going to be able to use it at first but then had to use a bit of force to properly seat it. after that it's worked fine.

I purchased two of these ADATA 16GB USB 3.0 flash drives to serve as disposable drives to give to customers. I was hoping to take advantage of USB 3.0 speeds since my MacBook Pro has all USB 3.0 ports. After testing both drives, the performance is very poor for USB 3.0. Both tested right around 12mb/s write and 60mb/s read on Mac OSX Yosemite. That's pretty disappointing for USB 3.0. I also bought a PNY Turbo 64GB flash drive and that gets 70mb/s write and 102mb/s read. If speed is your game...look elsewhere. For the price of these ADATA drives, I didn't have high expectations...but being USB 3.0, I shouldn't have this disappointing of results.As for appearance, they look nice. They have a nice steel look to them and have a durable feel. A lot of keychain loops break off flash drives too easily, while these are unibody and strong. The fitment in a USB port was a little resistant...perhaps it would get easier over time.

I purchased two of these November 2019I use them for backups usually once a week, nothing heavy. one has failed already, I would normally not be too bothered but it had my most recent backups on it and Ive since lost them. Frustrating .

Looks nice, feels like quality product and no problems with Updating Bios on numerous Motherboards!

Ehrlich gesagt, ich habe noch nie einen schlechten USB-Stick erwischt. Zugegeben, irgendwelche Leistungs-, Lese- oder Schreibgeschwindigkeiten habe ich auch noch nie geprüft. Für meine Alltagszwecke wie kleine Datenmengen oder ein paar MP3s hat bisher noch jeder Stick gereicht. Und ob es USB 2 oder 3 ist, merkt man trotzdem gleich, auch ohne den Stick auf Herz und Nieren zu prüfen.Ich weiß gar nicht, was andere so mit ihren Sticks treiben, wenn er mal wieder abraucht oder ultraheiß wird und dann nur den einen Stern vergeben. Von mir gibt es die vollen 5 Sterne als Normalgebraucher, was aber jeder andere Stick jedes anderen Herstellers (No-Name-Produkte ausgeschlossen) normalerweise auch bekommt.Besonders bei Amazon-Nur-Geschenkt-Ist-Billiger-Preisen! Sehr guter Stick zu einem sehr günstigen Preis
