Escape From Paradise - PC

It was very interesting and fun to play to see how you could really survive.

The principle of this game is that you're shipwrecked on an island, and must find a way to get off. To do this, you have to build a society to sustain you (with food, living huts, wells), while trying to find your way off the island. The key to getting off the island is a radio, and as you build your society you have to look around for the pieces of the radio, which are scattered across the island. As you work your way around the island a native guide gives you tasks to complete and mini-games to play. The concept is good enough, but the main problem with this game is that it's very repetitive: build hut, gather food, gather wood, lather, rinse, repeat. The game needs more to it if it's going to be as long as it is, and I found that the mini-games were annoyances more than fun. They're basically clones of popular games: there's a match 3, and a diner dash clone (but not as fun as it has minimal features). Overall, I can't recommend this game. It can be fun to play in small doses, but lacks the development of other games. Virtual Villagers is MUCH better.
