A couple of the nori cutters can’t be used on nori!
This is an adorable product, but there are some descriptive issues you should know going in. Only 4.5 of the 6 nori cutters (there are 2 yellow plastic units with 3 featured cut areas each that I’m counting as a total of 6) are serrated and can be used for nori. The other two (the fish and the kitty face with attached mouth/nose) are smooth and can be used for sliced products like cheese, meat, or sliced steamed vegetables. Overall, the serrated ones actually cut through nori surprisingly well! I’ve had success cutting any thin food with the serrated edges. I’m not sure why the smooth edges were left off the fish and one of the kitty faces unless it was an oversight when the plastic injection mold was made.Either way, it’s a good kit and not horribly expensive. It’s a little overpriced for plastic, but it’s a convenience item (glad not to cut each facial feature freestyle by hand) and it mostly works. Can you do the same faces using your hands to form the head and by free cutting the nori? Well, yeah. Of course. But this will keep it simple and consistent. In case you’re interested in which ones are useable on nori, see my photo. Areas 2, 3b, 4, 5, and 6 are serrated and work well on nori. 1 and 2a are smooth and are really just for soft foods like sliced meat, cheese, or steamed sliced veggies.

Fun and easy rice ball cats
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I had a lot of fun with these cat cut-outs in the kitchen. I bought these cut-outs to have some fun while cooking with my younger sister. The cutouts were very easy to use. We used some rice and formed them into cats using the press tool and cut out some teriyaki flavored seaweed with the cat cutouts. The end result looked very and cute and was also very tasty. All of the tools were made of plastic so washing them off after using them was fast and easy. I recommend getting these if you want to have more fun while cooking.

So. CUTE!
I feel like the “making lunch for my kids!” Lady! 😂 Y’all know who she is! She makes elaborate bento box lunches for her daughters everyday. This is so easy to use! The directions or not in English but it’s self explanatory. These turned out so cute! I stuffed mine like a California roll. My daughter spent the like all that so hers I just made a panda rice ball. Make sure you use sushi rice! It’s the sticky kind for sushi. Literally labeled “sushi rice.” I buy my seaweed sheets from Amazon, too. They are always out at the store. They’ve become a very popular snack I heard. Have fun because this panda 🐼 maker is adorable and it works. Even my hubby loved them!-Brandi

Works really well!
I’ve never made onigiri before, and this mold worked perfectly for shaping the rice and punching out the nori! I do wish the faces came as three separate punches, because it’s difficult to use the middle one without wastefully punching partial nori. I’m just gonna try and break them apart from each other.

Cute and easy to use!
Too cute and so easy to use! I found the rubber mat was hard to use for cutting out the nori so I would often use my hands instead that's arey favorite out of all the ones I got for this platter!

100% recommend
This was a fantastic set. Works great! Just a tip I wet both my hands and the mold in warm salt water and the rice didn’t stick at all.
