Q: Do you need to buy the Long hair version for a golden retriever?

I think it should work fine on a Golden Retriever. My dog is a mixed breed but his coat is longer than a Golden, especially with his feathers and it works great for him.

Q: I would like to use this product for my two short-haired dogs and my one short-haired kitten. Should I get the "Fine/Short Coat" or the "Cat" version?

I am using the "short-hair dog" version on my short-hair cats and it works great. One of my kitties has an undercoat and she just loves it, it gets loads of loose hair off of her. None of my other (5) kitties has an undercoat, but they all like it too and tolerate it just fine, although they don't shed as badly as my kitty with the undercoat. Walmart was out of te cat version when we went looking, and the shorthair dog version was all they had. I do not know of there is much difference between the cat version and the short-haired dog version, except for a *huge* difference in cost.. But I can tell you, it's one of the best tools I have ever used for my kitties.

Q: How is this on a corgi?

Hello, in reply. I don't think it work well. I'd recommend one by MyDog. It's two tools in one. It's a de-shedder plus the rake (both in one tool). As a professional groomer we know that once the de-shed tool loosens the hair you need to rake it out. You may need to do this more than once depending on the thickness of the coat and also based on how long the time has lapsed between complete brush-outs of the coat. Corgi's have a very thick, loose shedding coat. You need a time saver and MyDog De-Shedder works really well.

Q: Should I do the short or long for a medium length Rottweiler?

I would go with the short hair model. I've used one on my long haired Golden Retriever it just needs to be cleaned more often.
