Dan Coates Popular Piano Library -- Medleys of Timeless Standards
R**D
Major disappointment, Dan Coates really missed on this one.
This book is shown to be at the "intermediate to late intermediate" level. In comparison to his other arrangments I find this one to be far from intermediate. Significant portions of each arrangement include only single quarter notes in the bass and treble clef with a few thirds, fourths, and fifths thrown in as well as an occassional triad. The shortest note duration is an eighth note, and some eighth note triplets and there are no sixteenth notes, arpeggios, or chord indications. The print is actually big notes, as in being close to big note easy piano.Mr. Coates is a great arranger and I have always been impressed with his arrangements. This one however is a disappointment.
