Powerful hob. You won't be disappointed!
Having recently bought an old, neglected house, we discovered that none of the ancient kitchen appliances were working but this gave me the perfect excuse to replace them all and get back to having an induction hob! After doing a lot of research and looking for one from a good brand, I decided on this Russell Hobs model. All I can say is that of all the induction hobs I've had over the years, this one is by far the best, even better than some I paid twice the price for. This hob boils water so quickly and is very responsive. It is powerful, looks smart and is at a very reasonable price. I am very happy with my purchase and despite my kitchen being old and needing replacing, this hob looks great.*Please note that if you've not had induction hobs before, just be aware that you need to buy induction compatible pans or you will not be able to activate your hob. The hob works only when the magnets inside the pans make contact with the surface.*

The "Minute Minder" function is of limited usefulness.
This device first came available on Amazon in October 2015 so it has been around for quite a while. Perhaps it has been upgraded. Who knows? The Timer function enables each zone on the hob to be set to shut off after a time specific to that zone and independently of the other zones.. Which is fine. One malfunction which persists to this day, was noted by a Curry's customer in a review dated 19th July 2021 it relates to the "Minute Minder" :-"Even though the manual says you can use the timer ("minute minder") without the hob on, it doesn't work as the hob switches itself off if you don't select a ring, even if the timer is running."My own finding harmonises with this review, these are my words;-The Minute Minder on our Induction Hob (June 2024 model) does work, but only if at least one of the zones is in operation. Despite what the Instruction Manual page 17 tells us “... you can use the minute minder even if you are hot selecting any cooking zone”. The software is not set up like that. When the last zone on the hob completes and there are no active zones the Minute Minder switches off. Thus, as it is set up, the Minute Minder is almost useless for timing any cooking, or other, activities unrelated to what is on the hob.I relate this because until I found the 2021 review I had become convinced that we had just installed a 'lame duck' of an appliance and was debating whether or not to send it back for a refund. I am now happy to retain it because the one I have is not 'faulty' after all ... it is just made like that and I can live with it. I have ordered a 'standalone' electronic kitchen timer so that my Wife is free from the installed Minute Minder's foibles.

Annoyingly understated
Easy to install & use. It doesn't make a noise about it's operation. No flashing lights or bells, just does everything in a very understated fashion

Good induction hob with the usual induction hob pros and cons
Mirroring the review by M. D. Saunderson, I had the same experience. The cutout has to be slightly larger for the soft rubber gasket to meet well with the worktop, otherwise water could potentially leak under there.5 stars because the only complaints I have are inherent to the style of hob, e.g. the on-off clicking to moderate the temperature, the inductive "buzz" in the pan, and the capacitive controls not working when wet. These issues I can live with to have the advantages. The obvious advantage being that it's very easy to clean, and heats very quickly as the only thermally latent mass is that of the pan itself, meaning you can boil water almost as fast as an electric kettle. I now doubt the point of even having an electric kettle! If you don't have children, you may think the child lock is a pointless feature for you, but it's very useful to lock when cleaning/wiping down without accidentally turning it on.The only concern I have for the longevity is sliding metal-based pans around feels like it might be scratching the surface, and you WILL slide pans around while stirring since the surface is smooth glass. Having said this, it seems to be holding up ok.So if you've decided you're going for an induction hob, this is a good one, at a good price too.
