Yup, it’s a genuine HP standard size black ink cartridge. My (stupid printer that I am about to throw out) did read it. But I desperately needed some black ink and am not in budget to purchase a new printer right now. Of course this was a much cheaper option so it will suffice until my next printer purchase which will be ASAP.Print quality was good, can’t complain. It’s not the cartridge’s fault that it comes from such a greedy company. Please note that these are NOT refillable. In the past they were, but HP wants their $$ of course and changed the chips to deem the cartridge useless after x amount of pages printed.Anyway, these cartridges are super easy to install, they work well, though they are NOT a great value for the price, at all as they come with so little ink and will not print you very many pages. Hence the 4 stars.Blame HP.

I hate to have to buy this over-priced liquid. Amazon at least makes it convenient.
Printer ink is one of the biggest rip-offs in the U.S. today. If you calculate the price per gallon, it is way more expense than any other liquid I can name. That said, I still nee it. I can save a few pennies at War-Mart but the inconvenience and hassle made me delay the purchase and I'd have to go days or weeks without being able to use my printer. I decided that the convenience of Amazon would take some of the skin out of having to purchase the liquid gold and have been doing so for years. Same as any other ink and more convenient to buy.

I wasted money on off brand or resell cartridges. Just go with the real thing.
