Nothing special needed. A regular sharpening as you would normally will work just fine. I have had these now for a few months and they are still razor sharp

These are true damascus! You can see the layers of steel on the blade when you purchase. They are beautiful and now that I have these, ill never use another knife. Worth the purchase!
