Pachmayr Grip / 1911
I own a 1911 colt super 38 series 70, I did not like the grips it came with, I bought some diamond pattern ceramic ones, but got really tired of them, first because of the texture and then the patter itself I felt outdated. I was looking to purchase some Wilson Combat diagonal stripes grip but it was impossible for me to get them, so looking at different patterns and good builds I came across the Pachmayr Grips. There was not much information not reviews for this item, so that did not help, also if you visit their website not much info their either.Pros / The texture is amazing as well as the pattern , the look is really good, and fits perfectly (that is, if you have no ambidextrous safety features nor release). Mine turned out to look exactly as the picture there and I just love it.Cons / Durability due to the texture , compared to a ceramic or aluminum grip I doubt they will be as durable, the material feels really rough and tough but the first impression feel is that.I recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a great feel great look grip for a 1911.

Solid
I put this on my Desert Eagle 1911G and it looks and feels great. I've owned a few of these wrap-around rubber grips from pachmayr and these were actually very easy to put on as the others really required some effort to get the holes over the grip bushings. Works great for an ergonomic and positive control on my 1911. Another good thing about these rubber grips is that Pachmayr really seems to put forth the effort in making these universal among all gov't and commander sized 1911s. These should fit just about any model with or without an ambi safety and all those other 1911s with any sized thumb safeties and slide stops. I've dealt with quite a few grip panels that didn't fit right because of all the varied sizes of controls. This is a great low risk item. The ambi safety on an Armscor 1911 may require some minor modification with a dremel or sandpaper but otherwise it should be a slam dunk.

Raised Thumb Ridge profile for Larger hands #02919
Tight, but Easy to install with factory grip screws.Fits larger hands like mine very well.Checkering gives Excellent Grip on front strap and all around.Natural Wood grips absorb some moisture, unlike Neoprene,so periodically Check underneath these to avoid rust.Love the Raised Thumb Ridge on this #02919 version, +1but can interfere with magazine release if you have smaller hands. The Pachmayr #02921 has a Flat profile you may like.Either way, got Pachmayr on my Gold Cups, Govt. models, and Combat.

Getting handy
I ended up getting these grips for my Rock Island tactical which has no checkering on the gun, so I needed that extra grip to keep the gun solidly in one place these grips gave me that extra grip that checkering normally provides.A note for buyers: buying off amazon is not ideal simply because you can't get the exact info you need, on that note the downside to these were that they are not made with ambidextrous safety in mind, and they have a rubber lip on the magazine well. I ended up cutting down the grip on the right side to accommodate my safety I only had to cut a little bit off with a straight razor and cutting the magazine lip off so the grip was form fitting.

Works just like it should
I got this to make a Springfield 1911 A1 Loaded a bit less ostentatious and it works perfectly for that. I also don't particularly like the feel of standard wood grips.
