These valences say that they are black, but they are definitely gray. They fit the curtain rod fine, but the tops of them flop, and lay down. I like the scrunchy, puckered looking style, but these do not do that. My mom suggested putting crumpled up balls of newspaper in the hole above the curtain rod hole, to make them stand up a little better, but that would make it such a hassle to have to unstuff and then restuff them when I go to wash them. So, they continue to sloppily flop down. I wouldn't really fuss about it if the price was a little cheaper. I paid a lot of money to get gray, floppy valances, when, according to the description and the picture on Amazon, I was supposed to get black valances that had a scrunchy look at the top. Pretty bummed out with this purchase... :/

This was perfect for my needs, it's a little stiff and I don't recommend washing it because it seems like the color would fade and the texture wouldn't hold up unless you starched it after washing. I purchased this to use as a curtain on my medicine cabinet and it worked exactly as I hoped.

Horrible! It's gray, not black. I thought I could still make it work, so I made the mistake of washing it to try to soften up the really stiff fabric. When I took it out of the wash, all of the folds had turned white! And the curtain over all turned an even lighter gray, not that that mattered since the white folds all through it rendered it completely useless; I had to trash it. What a waste of money!

I returned this item as soon as I opened the package.The color is NOT 100% black (more of a dark charcoal),and the material is very thin and flimsy. Feels and looks very cheap.I decided to spend a little bit more money instead.
