Coffee maker arrived in perfect condition and makes great Coffee. Would have been 5 star if it were shipped through Amazon.

outstanding: easy to use, taste is great, doesn't take a lot of space, all features are useful. love it.

I really wanted to like this machine. I wanted a machine that is SCO certified, which it is. However, there are several downsides that outweigh the SCO certification. I had to request a replacement from Braun Canada as the non-stick coating on the heating plate was wearing off after very little use (I usually select one cup at a time and rarely use the carafe). The replacement was promptly sent and I continued to use the machine for mostly one-cup brewing. Lo and behold, a month or so ago I noticed the non-stick coating on the heating plate has started to come off again. I might expect this to happen on a cheap off-brand from a discount store, but Braun presents itself as a premium brand. I certainly paid a premium price for it. I could start the process for a third machine as I still have warranty coverage but I am afraid that I will be disappointed again.Pros: Proper brew temperature for correct flavour extraction. Flexibility with cup/carafe amounts of coffee. Removable water tank for easy filling and cleaning.Cons: Poor quality control at the manufacturing level. Drip... drip... drip... long after brewing complete. Ridiculously sensitive touch controls.My bottom line? Don't waste your hard-earned dollars on this device. Braun needs to look closely at what they are trying to achieve with this "upscale" line of machines. Features are nice but quality is much more important. I don't expect longevity but am loathe to send all of this plastic and metal to the dumpster.

We bought this unit twice, and both cases the product stopped working. The second time it didnt even last a month. There are sensors in the unit that cause it to malfunction. The booklet has numerous error codes listed in a table with an explanation. The error we got was E21 error and the manual's answer was "unplug and try again, return if not working." The fact it has so many error codes should be enough to tell you its design is flawed.The coffee was great though.Braun service in Canada is terrible. Form email replies, and 20% off a new product was their solution.****UPDATE: after many emails I got a form email reply from Braun-DeLonghi Canada basically informing me they cant help me without the proof of purchase. They will give me 20% another unit. Not much help. So, you are basically out of luck should your machine go faulty, as it took a month to get that answer in Canada.**Any product with a manual full of error codes should be a good indication that the product has issues. **After 3.5 months the unit now has an error code and wont brew. In addition the coffee pot base coating has burned off from heat and the dripping even though it has non-drip function, so there's an obvious visible mark. The unit makes great coffee, the best so far. However I would not recommend it because there's too many irrelevant features driving up the price. Sensors to tell you the lid is open. A mini plate to add your mug. Setting for coffee sizes that dont match the average mug. It's $199.99 CAD and made in China so that tells you it probably costs $65 and the rest is Braun profit. Braun Canada (deLonghi) is non-responsive to email or calls. There's no answer at their 1888.This is my second Braun coffee maker, and this unit produces more flavour and hotter coffee. Very consistent. I bought this for the coffee association endorsement as I wanted the temperature correct for brewing coffee.PRO-Excellent flavour-Hot-Freshness count down timer-Looks good, good designCONI drink too much coffee :)The pre-defined sizes (4oz, 8oz and 12oz) - either not enough per cup, or mug - or too much.Sensors - Lid open, Empty - unnecessary

Great machine, love how quick it can brew a pot. Easy to use!
