What are the dimensions? Is the white "basket" removable (i.e. could it be used as a shelf)?

Inside usable space is 9" x 3 3/8". Outside: width 9 1/2", from wall to front edge 4 3/8" (includes the space for the sticker mounts behind it). Yes, the white plastic insert is removable. There is not much of a ridge on the metal base, so small items can slide out if they get bumped or shaken. (I use mine in the MH so lots of shaking...b/c of the weight (I put 4 sunscreen bottles in it), I take the insert w/contents out when we are driving and put it back in when we are camped.)

Can it hang in the shower?

Absolutely! I have 2 in my shower!

What are the measurements in depth and width both at the top and bottom?

It is 3.5 inches long, but like 3" deep and about 3.5 wide. Not sure if that helps or not!
