LARIN(LFJ-48 48'' Utility Jack

Serviceable..You get what you pay for..if you need a cheap jack to abuse for a bit then this is it...
serviceable, but you get what you pay for....First let me talk about the design, its a farm jack the handle is crimped then welded to the lift mechanism, this will eventually break, its the weak point on the jack. I will take a piece of steal tubing about 6" ling and slide it down to the crimp and weld it over the crimp area to extend the life. Now i got this jack and put it on my jack mounts on the hood of the jeep, it rained that night and I was not working the next morning so I didn't go out to my jeep until mid day...The jack was already rusting, really...all at the top of the jack..rust is not a big deal, iron rusts...but it just goes to show you the lack of quality in the product, not painted or zinc coated very well...For 60 bucks it will last a few years and I'll buy a better brand. I'll use this fall and in the spring to remove several sapling stumps and fence post and if I do get a flat on my jeep, I hope the jack doesn't let me down until I get a better one.

I've had this thing for at least 10 years and it has never let me down, unless that's the direction I want it to go. Back when I bought mine they were about half the current price.First the bad: 1, the base plate it way too loose and lets the jack rock front to back way too easily 2, the clamp jaw or lack there of. The little metal tab is great for attaching a chain for use as a winch but this thing has ZERO clamping ability with it. Try to use it as a clamp and the tap just rotates. The good: I have used this thing for everything from winching (when a come-a-long isn't strong enough) to pulling fence posts, used it to set heavy machinery in a plant, break the bead on tires and save a ton of money changing tractor, motorcycle and truck tires at home without beating up the rim, level storage buildings, lift heavy tires like 38's and 44's (try changing a 44 by yourself without one of these. This is almost as versatile as duct tape. Now that they cost as much as a Hi-Lift brand I wouldn't buy another one though. If you're going to spend this much money might as well buy one made in the USA.
