Great for freeze dried food
I love these bags. They are great quality to keep my freeze dried food fresh. I like the size of them and the fact that they can stand up. They also reseal and continue to keep food fresh after opening.

10% Out of Spec on Thickness
Overall, I'm satisfied with the quality of the product, but note a few details. The bag is spec'd as 5 mil thickness , and actually measures 4.5 mils....10% thinner. I'm satisfied that the 4.5 mil will work for my use, but if this -10% is a make-or-break deal for you, be advised. The zip-lock does leak air, and does not offer a hermetically sealed bag. Inflate the bag, and gently squeeze the sides and you will note that air does escape through the zip-lock. The side seams and the gusset on my test will not leak air, so these are quality joints. So these bags are suitable for short-term storage, but for long-term you will need to heat seal above the zip with an impulse sealer, defeating the use of the zip-lock. Or move onto a vacuum sealer. No evidence of pin-holes in the gusset seams. The seams are well formed on all the bags I inspected.Others have reported that the zip is difficult to open. It is stiff, and does require some effort. However, the stiffness insures that it will not open accidently in a backpack, and enables air-tight short-term storage.Totally satisfied, and would buy these bags again.

Great for Vacumn packing prepper items
I use these to vacumn pack prepper items using a food saver. Anyone who wants to do it, can google how to make it work. I have vacumn packed Flour, Yeast, Almonds, Macaroni, Dehydrated veggies, Powdered milk etc etc. Holds a good seal if you do your part and seal well. Most items I can expect a shelf life of 25 + years. Much cheaper than buying "survival food packs", and very prudent since we are facing global food shortages this year. Ukraine and Russia produce over 30% of the worlds wheat. Flour, bread, pasta is all made from wheat. I expect these items to be scarce and also very high priced in the coming months. Buy cheap stack it deep, and these will help ensure it doesn't go bad.Pro's: Easy to vacumn seal ( using the right technique which you can google)Strong and puncture resistant.O2 Absorbers were good, work wellThey hold a seal wellShipping was fast (3 days)Can be re-used to seal something else if careful opening. Yes they will seal again just a little lower than where you originally sealed them.Con's : To vacumn seal you have to cut the zip lock off, because it closes when you press the food saver shut. Minor inconvenience. We all have scissors. When you want to open, must cut open. If you use the opening tabs, the bag tears diagonally sometimes ruining the bag. I want to reuse these so cutting them up is a must.

You get what you pay for.
For the money you're paying, these are very nice, quality items. There are others that are more sturdy/durable but they cost an arm and a leg.Being a person that must watch every penny I spend, these are a smart use of my money.I will keep buying these for my quart storage needs. The only "con" to them is that the zippers on the bags are always zipped close and there have been times that I've damaged the bags, trying to get them open. I guess one could argue that the zippers being so difficult to open means they are top quality zippers! If you need good quality at a decent price, I'd recommend you try these.

Great size & good quality bags.
Just what I needed. Gallon size was too large, and 1 quart was too small for the packages of food I was preserving. Love that the oxygen absorbers came with the bags. Nice and thick, good quality bags. This was definitely a great value.

My favorite mylars
I am on a farm and preserve alot of my own food to eat healthier and know what's in my food. Also, if you live out of town it's just natural to stay stocked up on things so you don't run out. These are my favorite ones so far. They are nice and thick so don't rip, tear, or stretch out. The ziplocks are nice and strong so no worries coming loose. I love the extra they leave for sealing above the ziplocks at the top. If I only seal a little at a time they can be resealed 2 or 3 times. The stand up feature is huge for me as I"m usually doing everything by myself without an extra hand. I store heavy things like flour, sugar, salt and cornmeal in them so those bags are pretty heavy and they hold up great. I accidentally got some that fill from the bottom and were already sealed at the top and they were no comparison to these. I've ordered their sets of mixed sizes and those are just as good, but I tend to use gallons more than anything. The labels on these are good as well although I tend to just write on the bags with a Sharpie.

Worth the extra money
Good choice here. Thick enough material gives me confidence, and the solid closing strip provides the option of resealing unlike some cheaper options. This size is great for dividing larger freeze-dried loads into more individual servings for use, if needed, 25 years from now.
