Recommend buying this for car bass
Omg I love it would definitely recommend this very good sound bass for the value of money.

Love them.
Have had them installed and bumping for about a week. I love them. I listen to Rap as well as metalcore. These JBLs sound really good with both. Strong clean bass with Hip Hop and turned down a little with the bass knob I purchased they sound amazing with bands like August Burns Red and As I Lay Dying. Great speakers for the price. Couldn't be happier.

These things THUMP.
i have a 4 four honda accord, put this in the trunk and it shakes the whole car. if your looking for something not too pricey but good quality and loud and your car isn’t too big, this will provide MORE than enough bass.

Great bang for your buck!
I'm not sure why anyone that knows anything about sound systems would give less than a 5 star rating. The old saying you get what you pay for. In this case you get much more! Super great value for a great product. Sounds fantastic. Hits hard with a RF 500.1 amp. Perfect!

Bump and knock
These hit pretty damn hard. I hooked them up with the JBL Club A600 amp, recommended by JBL, and now I can't use my rear view mirror when it's turned up. I'm used to having bass in my car but my daughter says it's hard to breathe when they pound. I've got some distortion on the low end frequencies but I'm still tuning the crossover and gain to work that out, and the bass boost is still all the way down while I break them in. If I have to name a con, it's the smell. They smell like hot plastic all the time. It's been like 3 weeks now, and they still smell. It's not necessarily a "bad" smell but it's not how I want my entire car to smell.Edit, I was installing a second battery today to help with voltage drops and started wondering how long I'd had this system. Well, it's been over a year. They still pound like the day I was done breaking them in. The smell is almost gone. I've read it's fairly common, especially with JBL subwoofers. It's not that burned electronics smell that I've experienced with computers, which would most likely be the coils. Someone online described the smell as "like a box of bandaids" and that's about as close as I can describe it. I ran my JBL's at half bass frequency levels on the EQ with no gain and no bass boost for at least 5 hours before I tuned them for peak performance and that smell was there the entire time. It also seems like it's most common when the speaker has been bridged to lower Ohms. Last note, there is nothing in the installation manual for these speakers that says they require a break-in period, though I would still suggest at least a few hours to be safe.Enough about smelly speakers, these things have held up nicely in my daily driver. They get about 30 minutes of play per day, and I DO NOT go easy on them at all. I make my own bass tunes, which sometimes include what are basically sustained sine wave frequencies. I am constantly pushing them to a spot where they are probably about to clip. They will try to produce sub 30 Hz frequencies but there's just nothing there but empty vibrations, which is to be expected from a low wattage 12" subwoofer in the trunk of a compact vehicle. If you open the box up it's easy to spot the problem. The port is not tuned to these speakers. I don't understand why JBL would put their own speakers in a box of their design and then make the port both too narrow and almost 4 inches too short.

Wow!
These subs really hit. Paired them with the JBL A600 and they are great!
