Like other reviewers stated, mine was damaged as well on the bottom lip. Must be a design flaw because mine was packaged pretty well, unless they are shipping returned damaged containers. I'm keeping mine because it doesn't leak at the damaged location. Hope I don't regret keeping it.I did fill the container with water for a leak check and no leaks anywhere. The lid fits tight.

This really is a handy item to have in the garage. I always change the oil in our cars myself. Some take 5 quarts, some take 6. I always buy synthetic oil in the 5 quart size so at some point I need to measure out a quart when the car calls for 6. This works perfectly and the savings by purchasing 5 qt. containers of oil instead of one quart bottles I've probably paid for this thing already. I just wish it had some sort of top covering the openings during storage to keep the dust/dirt out. That's why 4 stars instead of 5. Still, works for me so I like it.

This is just the right tool when buying oil by the gallon and using by the quart. With quads, mowers and generators all needing 1/2 to 2 quarts it's easy to read, fill, pour and does not spill. My only complaint would be about storage. You cant really clean it our after every use so having some sort of lid to keep airborne dust and debris out of the container. That would make it a 5 Star tool! I resolved to stuff it in a kitchen garbage bag and place it on the shelf. Now it will stay clean and ready for use next month.

Great measuring tool for my oil changes. I buy the 12qt mobil 1 boxed oil and this works perfect for my lexus which takes almost 10qts. No leaks, but i still use a reg funnel just incase to pour my oil into.

Works just like a jug should. No leaks, sits flat, fluid goes in and you can pour fluid out. I do have 1 problem and it is consumer error. Only holds 2.5 quarts. I should have read the description better. I just though this was 1 gallon containers. Still 5 stars across the board.
