Bought these straps for a surf trip to Baja and the locking mechanism gave me great piece of mind knowing it would take quite a lot of work to get my surfboards. The best part about them is how secure the straps make your boards to the roof of the car. The wideness of the straps also secure them better than other skinny straps while not putting as much pressure in one area of the board which could otherwise cause some pressure dings.

Have had these since May 2022 and very lightly used. I am very disappointed. The latch mechanism inside the locking head is difficult to use. Threading the strap is quite difficult. I need to use pliers to pull the strap through the moving mechanism with the teeth that hold the strap. One of the straps is now non-funcitonal. It has locked and apparently something has jammed the mechanism because the buckle will no longer open even though I am certain the combination has been dialed in correctly. Also, one of the straps is wearig, and the metal fibers now poke through the cloth. I cut myself on one of the fibers. Overall, buy something else. Poor durability and a headache to use. Anyone with arthritis in their hands or similar disability will likely not be able to use these straps as the clamp inside the buckle that you have to squeeze in order to thread the strap, requires a great deal of pressure. If you cannot squeeze hard enough with one hand to fully open the space where you thread the strap, you cannot thread the strap and lock the buckle. The straps do prevent your belongings from being vulnerable to a crime of opportunity. But in my opinion, the hassle is simply not worth it. Get a cable-style bicycle lock.

I successfully installed this on my camper battery. Cut it to the right length (which led me to discover that the strap part is easier to cut than I'd prefer). And set the combination. Closing the clasp was a bit harder than it should be because the hinge is flimsier than I'd like. But got it closed and the strap tight. Unlocking it takes some work because the combination wheels don't turn easily when it's all closed and locked. May need a screwdriver to turn them after it gets some age and road dirt on it. But for the price, I guess it will do.

For the cost, these are helpful in deterring someone from stealing your items. I wish the steel cables in the webbing were heavier.

I purchased the item twice. Both times one of the lock combinations were jammed or would not turn. Both time I returned the item.

Good quality and easy to use

The locking pawls are plastic. The strap slides through the binder in both directions. The code cylinders are also plastic and very difficult to turn, even when brand new and dry. The entire security box is plastic. My kid could break into this lock accidentally. Zero security. Absolute trash product made of the cheapest materials with no attention to manufacturing a security product. There is a big hole in the bottom of the security box you could insert a screwdriver into and the only thing that makes the strap design "locking" is that the normal strap binder lever is hidden, but it is accessible from the underside. Save your money, use a normal strap and a cable lock like everyone else.

Unfortunately I found the dial very difficult to turn without using a knife or a tool. It may perhaps be my hands, I admittedly have arthritis but even my husband couldn’t get the dial to turn. On a positive note, I did apply for a refund and my request was processed without any issue so I appreciate that from the seller.
