Nothing is ever tactily just right for me without modification.
First, this is a very good book to begin with and I’ve read many in my attempt to get to “the” issue—too much time in my head, to little action.Second, being a little OCD and tactily sensitive, I often cut the spines off of books and comb-bind them so they lay flat for this reason. The spiral binding really works for me. Being able to fold completely over makes one-handed (recliner) reading possible and highlighting a breeze.I am what I am and nothing ever seems “just right” for me. It’s sometimes a bitch to be me, but I can’t imagine wanting to be anyone else. Thanks for this aftermarket improvement.

Practical tools for quieting mental chatter
If you're like me and you are prone to ruminating, you may find this book helpful. It includes different techniques to help quiet the constant mental chatter. The 5-4-3-2-1 grounding method and the 4 A's of stress management actually work when you try them. The writing style is straightforward with lots of practical advice. I did think that some sections lacked the depth that I would have wanted and could have benefited from more detailed explanations. Overall I've been using the techniques, and I have been feeling less anxious and more focused throughout the day. It's a quick read that I will definitely be referring back to.

Categorizing your thoughts?
This is a good read. If you're looking for something that gives you ways to slow down your thought process. Sometimes we overthink things and that leads us down a rabbit hole of overthinking which can lead to all kinds of mental disorder. This book helped me put my thoughts into categories if you will so that I could better analyze. What direction was next

I bought this book after my therapist recommended it, and I’m so glad I did. It really helped me manage my overthinking and reduce stress. The techniques are practical, easy to understand, and don’t feel overwhelming—perfect for anyone just starting their self-improvement journey. It’s also an easy and quick read, which made it feel very approachable. I even passed it on to my mom after I finished, and we had some great conversations using what we both learned from it.The price is very affordable, and the content is truly helpful. I highly recommend this book to anyone dealing with stress, anxiety, or just wanting to improve their mindset. In today’s world, we all overthink at times—this book offers simple, effective ways to take control of that.

Book is overwhelming
This book is to complicated. I gave up after 50 pages. It was to much talk and not enough practical for me.

Ruminating thoughts? then take this book for a spin.
The last half to last quarter of the book is really good. From my personal experience it does a better job than most of my psychologist therapy sessions I have done. Did a good job at verbalizing and defining a phenomenon such as rumination. Addressed it with compassion, and challenge it against the bottom line. Addresses common intrusive thoughts we all have of this day and age. If you are looking to expand your knowledge or want to taste a version of CBT, this is a really good book. I would highly recommend it.

I related 100% & now I’m utilizing
I purchased this book through Kindle which I find is much easier to read as I often flip back a page or 2 to re-read. I’m a classic on what the cover applies. It’s why I purchased it. Obsessive thoughts & worrying have been with me for as long as I can remember. I feel genetics is a factor for some, others are life experiences & just who I became as an adult. After going through cancer these issues became worse even though I recovered. I didn’t recover emotionally. I had my Son & the worrier as a Mother kicked in. Before I knew it the stress management I had in place caved & anxiety was a a daily fight. I still fight it. I’m more equipped now in coping with it in working with a Psycholgist & specifically focusing on Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). This practice has changed a lot for me in a positive way. I’m always a sucker for books on these topics & always looking for guidance from a different perspective. I’m glad I purchased this book. The 1st chapter I scanned as it’s a lot of explaining of what these mental health conditions are. Chapter 2 gets into the thick of things where I particularly liked “The 4 A’s of Stress Management.” As he states “all you need to remember is four techniques: avoid, alter, accept and adapt. I found this to be very useful to me. It writes a hard to approach topic(s) & breaks them down so it’s so easy to understand. This writing continued throughout the entire book. He breaks it down with an easy way to understand & begin an approach to apply it to your life. I’ve learned meditation is an awesome way to provide TLC to myself on a daily basis & it improves my overall mental health at the sane time as well as so many other amazing benefits. His “The 5-4-3-2-1 Grounding Technique” is similar to the way meditation gets started & it can be applied when your not meditating. He does an awesome job describing how to use this technique. Learning how to manage my time has helped me with procrastination. He cites theories but again makes it easy to read. The chapter on Setting SMART Goals truly teaches one-of course putting what you read into action- not to set goals which will lead to failure. Each letter is SMART serves a purpose I’ll remember. I liked “How to find instant zen” the best. Don’t we all wish for that. Again how he presents in actually achieving it made me feel, I can do this~ really! Again meditation is brought into play here as he focuses on the breath process of inhaling & exhaling which we all do. What’s important is paying attention to it more often. I could continue on & on with the rest of his book but the rest doesn’t disappoint. I ended the book feeling more confident in being able to manage my obsessing thinking, my stresses & my anxiety in check. I read portions of the book to my Psychologist in one of my sessions & she applauded his writings. The book was very much worth what I paid. If you are an over thinker I feel you would benefit from this book. I do recommend it!
