A book everyone should read
This is an excellent book that everyone should read and apply to themselves. Mind over matter. We are all energetic beings. Reiki and believing in positive things are both very beneficial. I have been a Reiki practitioner for many years and have seen the results in my clients and felt them in myself. I highly recommend it!

Take a Fantastic Journey
Take a fantastic journey with David R. Hamilton, Ph.D. through a world beyond what the eyes can see in “Why Woo Woo Works: The Surprising Science Behind Meditation, Reiki, Crystals and Other Alternative Practices." Just as Dr. Hamilton once built molecules for drugs in his role as an organic chemist, he builds a beautiful and intriguing conversation about phenomena that will stretch your mind and open your heart and soul to the possibilities of why, what typically is referred to as ‘woo woo’, works. He cites research that both supports the science behind these phenomena while highlighting the studies that support the notion that it’s just all woo woo anyway. You will go from woo woo to wow as Dr. Hamilton shares anecdotes from his personal life and other investigators of these phenomena. I felt as though I were sitting at a café having a cup of tea with Dr. Hamilton absorbed in this compelling conversation about various healing modalities, crystals, time, the Law of Attraction and how ‘woo woo’ phenomena can help inform our lives to guide us as we navigate our physical world.

Great easy to read book.
Not really a lot of new news however it was great to see the "science" behind some of the concepts. And, there are a number o new ways of looking at life on the planet in this body suit that I liked. Recommended!

It's woo woo AND it's fascinating!
I'm in a bookclub with Francesca Amber called Book Club Bitches. This was the April book of the month. I'm only two months into the bookclub and will admit to the woo woo nature of the chosen books had me rolling my eyes a few times. But after reading this book and hearing Francesca speak about it during the bookclub podcasts, I'm a believer. Fascinating read AND so great to have scientific proof that the woo woo works.

Wow...an excellent book!!!
This book was referred to me in a couple places so I decided to read. I am SO grateful that I did. It was an intriguing work that unfolded several ideas thar I hadn't considered and others that I thought were not substantiated. Was my mind blown open! Exceptional guide! Kudos to Dr. Hamilton!

Finally! Confirmation of something I’ve always…..”known.”
As a long-time practitioner of Reiki, I knew it was “working” but could not help noticing that other healing modalities used by others - prayer, chanting, qigong et al - also worked. I told myself these were all based on our largely untapped power of human intention. Dr. Hamilton bases the success of all of these not so much on intention but rather on the strength of human emotion. He says “Most healing practices are founded on a compassionate wish to help spare a person from suffering, so it likely doesn’t matter that much who or what a healer believes in, or even which specific technique they use, so long as they feel compassion when they x send healing and their intentions are honest and heartfelt.”I find Hamilton’s explanation that an element of consciousness arises outside the individual human brain and connects us all universally a deeply satisfactory way to integrate so many of my personal experiences that urged me beyond a merely materialistic worldview toward something more like what he calls idealism.
