Works but not easy to setup
I bought a hub and switch pack and these do work without neutral, or capacitor, although one is provided. They work with Alexa and switch several high powered LED spot lights without trouble. As with most smart light switches you will likely need a deeper box than a standard one, or use a spacer plate. I was replacing an existing faulty smart switch so had already made a mess of my wall previously... Recommend using a spacer unless you're diy savvy.However....Like another reviewer on here I have also worked in IT a long time and have decent experience with a Smart Home setup... I also struggled to get both the hub to pair to the WiFi and the lights to pair to the hub. I also nearly gave up and then one last attempt got it working.I already had a couple of Broadlink items including the Infrared RM4 hub, so I rate them as a budget smart device company. I had an account and app ready to go but the headstart didn't help much. I have 3 different routers setup in my house, all with separate 2.4GHz SSIDs setup as it helps with this kind of thing. I struggled to pair the hub to any of them, and I am used to cheap temperamental smart bulbs and switches.Eventually it did pair to the App but THEN I had to get the lights to talk to the hub...Several attempts hold both buttons down and I couldn't get pairing mode to start. Even then the switch just kept flashing away and nothing happened. Only way I got it to work was to move the hub closer and eventually after a considerable delay they seemed to pair. Note - No PSU included with the hub I had to use an old tablet charger with a micro usb cable, you might want a longer lead if it needs to reach closer to the switch like mine. For anyone using Home Assistant, Broadlink integration doesn't support these hubs :( However it is possible to create a workaround using Alexa Media player integration to tell Alexa to turn them on and off. Of course you won't know what state the switch is in if someone manually touches it.Reliability, I've been using these for a couple of months and the hub has needed resetting 2-3 times. The switch itself seems decent but unlike previous smart switches the button illumination is poor and the led goes OFF when the light is ON which seems backwards to me... So I sometimes turn the outside lights off when I mean to turn them on. Range may also be an issue between the hub and switch.Overall, I expected better from Broadlink, especially at this price point but it does work only if you have the patience to struggle with it.

Brilliant piece of HW
This is a remote WiFi drive. Switch which doesn't need neutral wire.Very easy to setup ( you need 2ghz WiFi) and works brilliant..H driveway not lights up and shuts down automatically !Brilliant. The app to control is easy like butter.

Not easy to set up
Very pleased with this product now that I have got it working. Instructions are from a video on the app which you have to download first. It goes too fast and you constantle have to rewind. As a fairly competant DIY' er it still took me nearly an hour to figure it out even after reading reviews which said installation instructions were very poor. Doesn't explain that you have to remove the cover and then how to do it. After that fixing was simple but set up was complex. The hub comes with a usb cable but no transformer so you need to know where you re going to plug it in first. Doesn't like 5GHz wifi so you need to make sure your router is operating on 2.5GHz. Easiest part was linking it to Amazon Alexa.

Easy to install
Easy to wire in and set up. I ignored the set up instructions included and looked at a helpful BroadLink youtube video that described how to connect it up. Was very simple. Works fine with Alexa. It did need an additional spacer because the back box wasn't deep enough but not a problem.

Hit and miss
I've had 5 of these light switches so far.My first single gang switch worked ok and still does to this day.On that basis I ordered a 2 gang switch for my kitchen/dining room. Because these switches use chinesium for the screws this one stripped when installing the wiring. The replacement was ok and continues to work thus far.I ordered another single gang switch for the bedroom. This worked for a year and then went offline one day. It physically still operates as an on/off switch, but has lost its smart functionality. Attempts to reset the device fail (manual states to hold the power button for 5 seconds until LED blinks - it does not). After giving up on this switch, being unable to find any solutions (deleting it from the app didn't help, power cycling the switch only brings it into an offline gateway mode but still unresponsive to a reset). I ordered a replacement. The replacement also started in offline gateway mode and is also unresponsive to reset procedure.I've tried using a second hub in the same room as the unresponsive switch but it makes no difference.A month ago I'd be giving this a 5 star review, but now this has happened and I see the lack of support to help users. If you check their website for the "online helps" (sic) it contains only icons of various subjects but no links.I'm still waiting for a replay from my email sent to their only contact address. There are few options available to us people with older electrical wiring so be advised and good luck.
