Can regular lego figures like batman fit in it?

I don't have Batman, but all my other mini figures from Lego fit in the cockpit. Many with helmets.

Are the wings able to move or are they only in one position once built?

Yes u can move them in or out. I love this plane. I've bought 5 so far. I collect all war planes from ww2 and newer. I have 26 from cobi so far

Is this more of a build and display toy like lego? Or can a child play with it after building?

It is very much like a Lego Ideas kit. It is likely intended as mostly a display piece but it is a solid build and could easily make for entertaining play for a slightly older kid. If you're child is in the 10-12 range it would be great for play, destruction, rebuild into many other creations. Cobi parts are 100% Lego compatible so the parts could combine into a starfighter.or moon base or to start a Lear Jet recreation. Mine is just on display waiting for a few years when I can hand it on to my grandsons to invent their own creations.
