No problem at all with this regulator and because it is Victor, I know I'll be able to get rebuild parts for it in the future, for just a fraction of the cost of a new regulator.

A month or so ago my propane regulator, which I had used for 20 years, failed. I had purchased it from the company I get my glass tools from, and it was marked "import". At the time I did not know the difference and bought it because it was less expensive. I came here expecting to purchase the same brand... but someone had written a review urging people to get a good regulator for safety reasons. The brand I had purchased back when was no longer all brass, so I looked over the ones offered by Victor, knowing it was considered the industry standard. I was concerned about the plastic knob, but thought... they know what they are doing. When I first set it up I has a lot of propane leaking. I could smell it, strongly. We taped the threads (with the appropriate grade of silicone tape) and that took care of the leaking. I do find the knob large, that is, not as finely graded as I might like for use with a glass torch, BUT when I got it set right I had a cleaner, more focused flame than I have had before. There is no slipping (which I had not really noticed before, but the difference was clear). While this may not be as eloquent as the plea someone else wrote on the 'import' regulator, yes it is worth buying the Victor. It is accurate and reliable, and has given me better control over the quality of the flame, the ratio of gas to oxygen. My fuel is burning cleaner (because I have a better mix) and it does not slip or change while I am working with it. Definitely worth the extra expense (and it is not a huge difference) especially over the number of years that I will be using it.

I much prefer this to the cheaper Chinese junk low pressure LP regulators. Just the piece of mind in the Safety Factor alone will justify the price!

This regulator has functioned flawlessly maintaining propane pressure to a burner that feeds a metal melting furnace. Very well built. I am very happy that I have purchased 2 of these pressure regulators.

It was just what I ordered and what I expected. Price was right as was the product!

It arrived with the faceplates on the gauges shattered. We wrote and asked if we could just get new faceplates, but they couldn't do that and asked us to just return them and get different ones :(. We turned them in and got a refund but didn't want to risk the same experience again.
