Do not buy
Many of the positive reviews looked legit. But this is not pet safe. Cats chew it in pieces quickly, swallow inedible pieces and it looks like mine vomited up the straw. I hope they didn’t ingest any. This is a hazard that could cause a stomach obstruction which is fatal if cat is not take into the vet immediately. Not worth a cheap DIY “toy”. Don’t buy.

Mr. Bumbles is indifferent, except for...
My kitty, Mr. Bumbles, is indifferent about these sticks, except for the hard little glob of who knows what that’s attached to the end. Well, it was attached for about 30 seconds before he chewed it off and started batting it around. Wondering what that little brown glob even is. Looks like a dried up piece of sausage that fell off a pizza and lay on the bottom of the oven... about as hard as that, too. He could care less about the stick part. I’m also not happy that there’s dried hot glue visible through the twine. I don’t think that is very good for kitties to be chewing on.UPDATE: I have gotten 4 harassing emails from the seller urging me to change my review. Each email offered more money. They’re now up to $45! Problem is, I don’t trust this seller any more than my cat likes these sticks, or as far as he could throw them. The email came from a gmail account from someone with very poor grammar, but contained the information for my order. Very sketchy. No way I am corresponding with them or giving them any of my information to issue this generous “refund.”

Play toy - Possibly dangerous
Update 7/30/21: I don't know that I trust this product. My poor little kitten had an Exorcist freak out this morning, violently throwing up and out came the little ball piece from the silvervine stick.I have no idea what that little piece was but it did not set will with my kitten.Original review: I have an 8yo cat and just got a kitten. Got these for them to play with. I was iffy but both love these sticks! My older cats drools over them. Makes him all lovey. The little one just goes crazy over it. As for helping with keeping teeth clean, meh. They don't exactly chew on it so doesn't really help in that respect.

Great price and the cats are in love with them!
I have one grumpy older cat who never plays with anything and two rambunctious 1-yr-olds All three loved the Silvervine sticks immediately. I tossed them on the floor and they were pounced in seconds. Thank goodness I bought the three pack! The kitties have been batting them around, kicking them, chewing on them and in general just enjoying the heck out of them. I was sure the kittens would like this new toy but figured the older cat would ignore her stick just like she ignores everything. It's really great to see her participate. Now I just have to act as referee because one boy thinks ALL things are his and his alone - lol! The sticks are a real bargain and I would buy them again in a heartbeat, although they appear to be quite durable . The kittens are very rough on toys so some of the ends are pulled off but none have been totally destroyed yet. I would recommend these to anyone who has a cat. You can't go wrong.

Instantly fell apart!
This is a mixed review… I took them out of the packaging and gave one to each of my cats. They absolutely loved them! Biting, rolling around… they definitely liked them a lot. Unfortunately within the first 2 to 3 minutes one of the cats had bitten off big chunks of the straw at the end of one stick— and was having trouble getting a big thread of straw out of his mouth. It was just long enough where I felt like that it was dangerous. Since it was so easy to remove, I was concerned that it could be swallowed or torn further into shreds. While I was addressing that issue the other cat bit off the tiny ball that was hanging off the other stick… so the cats really liked them but two of them were damaged/partially destroyed within the first five minutes. I kid you not, we were all laughing because one of them only lasted about two minutes, and the other one was damaged within 1 to 2 minutes after that. Very disappointing as they really did like them. I ended up throwing them away immediately.

Perfect for Play and Then a Deep Snooze
I have a 15lb cat who can be overly needy during the day and loves anything with strings. I bought him these for his 7th birthday and he loves the frilly bits on the ends and the little dangly treat bit! I was hoping he would play with this by himself to keep himself busy, but instead he gets excited anytime I pick it up which is fine too. We'll have a little play session and then soon after he usually drifts off into a very deep and peaceful sleep which gives me time to get my own things done. The only thing I would change is to make it smaller since my cat tends to prefer smaller toys. I'm sure 3 of these will last me ages! Quality buy.

Cats couldn't care less
Update- I have 2 cats. They love catnip. Will rub and go crazy. I gave them a stick a week ago. They rubbed on the stick for about 5 seconds and haven't touched it since. Maybe the cats at the shelter will like it...I gave them to a friends cats. Nope. Nothing. Didn’t care. That’s 6 paws down. The company doesn’t like bad reviews. They will pay you to change or remove your review. Makes you question the legitimacy of all of the 4 and 5 star reviews.
