One of my two pool skimmer doors finally failed by breaking free of the mount. And if one door failed, the other door would soon follow, so I ordered two replacements. I’ve replaced these doors several times in the past and the process is pretty straight-forward. After a quick search I ordered these new skimmer doors. They were offered at a good price (especially when ordering two) and came with good reviews. My order arrived on-time and in good condition. When trying to install these doors, however, I noticed the mounting brackets had been attached to both door backwards, preventing the door from pivoting open toward the skimmer basket. The doors simply snap on the mounting bracket, so fixing this unexpected error was easy. The new doors are installed and performing as expected.

Ordered this product after researching several options for my broken Hayward SP1070-K skimmer door/flap. This was a PERFECT fit and very easy to install. The thing to remember is that when installing this new assembly is that the flat piece needs to slide into a vertical slot and push all the way down. Once in position, simply insert and tighten the screw and your all set. Perfect replacement!!

Fits just like the original Works great and costs a lot less than original manufacturers. I ordered an extra for a spare for my other skimmer.

As a previous reviewer commented: "...the flapper was molded in a die whose two parts were misaligned. This created flashing sticking out of the bottom of the flapper that would hang up on on the base plate and not allow it to flap freely." It is easy to fix by bowing the base plate to free the flapper from the base plate. trim that extra flashing (I forgot to take a picture before I trimmed it). Also, my flapper was facing the wrong direction. It will likely work in either direction, but I turned the flapper around when I reinstalled the base plate (after trimming the flashing) so that the INSTALLER ATTENTION lettering was facing the pool, not the skimmer basket. This is the ALL FLAT side of the flapper towards the pool, and the side with the "step" pointing towards the skimmer. I researched many pictures of other manufacturers, and I believe this to be correct (other Chinese versions have it "wrong" like this one, IMO).

Just like many other reviewers said, the flap was installed backwards on the base, but it was an easy fix. Also, I had to trim some plastic near the hinges, because it was catching the base, preventing the free operation. It worked.

As others have posted, very little attention was paid to these plastic parts after manufacture. Lots of left over casting flash that interfered with free movement of the weir. You'll need to spend a little time with a razor knife and/or a flat file to clean up the edges. In my case the weir was also a little wider than the Hayward piece it was replacing so a bit of time on the grinder and more filing to clean that up and narrow it. After these modifications, it installed as original and functions as it should.
