Prince and Me 3: A Royal Honeymoon

WHERE'S SOREN
As a longtime fan of Jonathan Firth, I was dismayed at his limited screentime in this installment in the franchise. Unfortunately, if you're also #TeamSoren, you will only see him in a few scenes towards the beginning (spoiler: and one scene at the end). However, I understand why having Soren as a major character creates plot problems, as all the obstacles faced by the protagonists could have been solved instantly if he were there. For example, Soren would have found a way to de-escalate the swordfight with the prime minister, and he would have easily seen through Scott's charade. In addition, someone needs to keep Denmark from sliding back into the Dark Ages while Eddie and Paige are on their HONEYMOON in Russia/Mexico/Canada?Hardcore Firthheads can skip The Prince and Me 3: The Royal Honeymoon and go straight to The Prince and Me 4: The Elephant Adventure, as you will still be able to follow Soren's character arc. In the fourth movie, he gets the recognition he deserves. Soren is truly the hero Denmark needs. If you're here for some reason other than Soren, you may enjoy the spliced-in stock wildlife footage, classy turtleneck fashions, zesty mariachi soundtrack and Eddie's descent into tyranny as he fails to take the moral high ground. I'm a bit disappointed that Paige neglected the Hippocratic Oath and kissed Eddie instead of attending to the wounds he inflicted on the prime minister during the aforementioned sword fight. Otherwise, a cute movie, but may give kids unrealistic ideas about proper snowmobile safety.

Prince and Me movie franchise - 1, 2, 3, 4
Prince and Me - I love this movie. I first saw this movie when it aired in the movie theatre. I remember at the time being disappointed with the ending because it left the story hanging...did they or didn't they have there happy ever after fairytale ending. My older Aunt and I debated; I was so on the side that they lived happily ever after but my Aunt thought that in real life they would have fizzled under pressure. Years later, I found out by happenstance that the Prince and Me movie has a sequel or 2 or 3 or 4. Yes there are 4 Prince and Me movies in the franchise.Julia Stiles' chose not to reprise her role as Paige and instead Kam' Heskin was casted as Paige. Although, Luke Malby' reprised his role of Edvard for the sequel he chose not to return for the subsequent movies and was replaced by Chris Geere' instead.Prince and Me (2004)Paige of USA and Prince Edvard of Denmark courtship begins as colleges students in Wisconsin, USA. Edvard is a student incognito who falls fast and deeply for college pre-med student Paige. Meet Cute!Prince and Me 2 - The Royal Wedding (2005)Edvard and Paige are living full time in Denmark and planning there wedding. Edward is the acting, crowned King of Denmark and Paige is now in her senior year of Copenhagen Med School, a heartbeat away from her dreams of becoming a doctor and marrying the love of her life - Just "Eddie". Of course all never goes smoothly for our couple but in the end love triumphs over adversity.Prince and Me 3 - A Royal Honeymoon (2008)Edvard and Paige are celebrating there 6 month wedding anniversary without having a real honeymoon 6 months ago due to the Kings' obligations preventing him from the trip after the wedding. So to surprise Paige, Edvard whiskies her away at Christmas time no less for there long overdue belated honeymoon. Of course the winter forest oasis is being threatened and our dynamic duo must race in to save the national gem from land development agents and Denmark's own PM. Denmark's PM is using the Kings' being out of the country for his own agenda to get the land bulldozed with the King none the wiser. Jokes on him when King Edvard and Queen Paige stumble upon his ruse on there impromptu honeymoon and foil his nefarious plans.Prince and Me 4 - Elephant Adventure (a.k.a 1 yr anniversary) (2009)King Edvard has been ruling Denmark for some time now and Queen Paige is now a practicing Doctor at Denmark General. Both have been so busy they have very little time for romance so when King Edvard receives a much anticipated wedding invitation from the King of Siam, He jumps at the opportunity to get away with his Wife and play humanitarian for the rainforest tribe. Of course, during the festivities Edvard and Paige manage to loose the sacred elephant and must save the day - for without the sacred elephant the princess marriage is jinxed and the rainforest tribe will be punished for supposedly kidnapping the elephant in the first place. By the way... the elephant just wandered off into the rainforest with no help from the rainforest tribe whatsoever. Never fear, King Edvard and Queen Paige are hot on the trail...and will true love prevail. Please its the Prince and Me franchise - of course.

Prince and Me Royal Honeymoon
While I prefer Kam Heskin as Queen Paige over Julia Stiles I do miss Luke Mabley as Prince Edward though Chris Geere is a good look a like I thought this movie was every bit as good as the first two. While I did miss having some of the other members of the royal family from the first two movie in the film they were of course not needed for a honeymoon storyline. In this tale the new king switch plans on honeymoon locations at the last moment to surprise his queen. They both get a surprise when they learn the prime minister plans to destory the natural enviroment and wildlife of the area for his own industrial plans. What more one of Queen Paige's former boy friends shows up with a tell all book in attempt to help the minister in blackmailing the royal couple. What neither expected however was that neither the King and Queen due what's normally expected of a royal couple. The story has a bit of it all from jealousy to romance and comedy. Even a great sword fight between the king and prime minster. I have yet to find a movie in this series that i didn't love for one reason or another.

They should have kept the same actors!
I hadn't watched this series in awhile. I was so excited that they had all the episodes. Then, I remembered why I hadn't watched them in awhile. They get worse as they go. I don't know how I made it to this one. I keep trying, but, I just can't. I miss the original cast. If they had started the whole series as made for TV, and, these actors, it would have been fine. But, everytime I start to watch the ones past the 1st one, it's just TOO hard. I'm trying to be nice, but, it really bothers me.

Hilarious
The only Danish thing about these movies are the opening credits and the flags, but this one was particularly hilarious to me. Imagining the real monarch, 80 year old Queen Margrethe and the prime minister, sweet Mette Frederiksen in the duel scene just made me laugh out loud! And hello, since 1503 every monarch until the present one has been named Frederick or Christian..? Where did Edvard come from? Aside from not actually helping my homesickness for Denmark with its un-Danishness, I find this series very sweet and funny.

Enjoyed this a bit more than the Prince and Me ...
Enjoyed this a bit more than the Prince and Me 2. Again I feel Kam heskin wasn't as good as Julia Stiles but Chris Deere did okay taking over from Luke Mably. Unfortunate they couldn't have got the original actors for all of the movies.

not as good as the first 2
Still a good film not as good as the first 2 the actor who plays the prince changed in this one which I felt was a bit of a let down as he didn't have the same cheeky smile that melts your heart the way the first actor does
