and of course the wasps like to build their nests in the hardest to reach ...
I was hesitant to buy this product as the reviews seemed hit or miss. However, it worked perfectly for me and did the job i needed it to do. I live in a 2 story home with vaulted ceilings, and of course the wasps like to build their nests in the hardest to reach places. This will screw on to your typical broom stick, or you can purchase an expensive extend-o pole from Amazon or Home Depot. Using my ladder and reaching out the upstairs Windows to get the higher nests, i was able to get away with a 10 ft. Pole. However, i went the cheap route and bought a 10 ft. PVC pipe and duck taped the attachment to the pole. Worked perfectly and only cost me 5$ If you need something longer than 10 ft. Then you should really buy the proper attachment, as the PVC pipe will begin to hang and it makes aiming for the nests more difficult (plus the string only goes 15 ft. ) As some reviews have mentioned, the plastic is a bit flimsy. You want to purchase the 20 oz. Spectracide can with the max. 27 ft distance. Anything smaller will still fit, but may require an extra piece of tape to stay in place :)

Works but a little tricky.
It fit my 16' extension pole which came from Lowe's. The screw threads seem to be standard industry size. The can clamp is a little trick to adjust because it is very tight. The instructions tell you to remove the can but who want's to go to the trouble? I managed to do the adjustment with the can in place but it takes a lot of force and tends to slam down on the spray button and squirt before you can get it stopped. Obviously that is why they suggest removing the can. I believe it would have been better to design a screw type thing to loosen and tighten the adjustment so you didn't have to use such force.I am able to extend the pole way out and reach those bee holes now however the can doesn't like being turned on it's side to spray so it takes some shaking up and rotating to get it to spray again. That's just a spray can issue though.

I was afraid to spend the money - but WOW it's awesome
I was almost scared off by the review I read on this making a weak spray. But the price here was lower than anywhere else online so I gave it a try. I had NO TROUBLE using this extender to spray for bees under my porch. Super easy to use and very convenient. Gave a nice strong spray. Though it took me a moment to try and match an extender pole to the screw on handle. I had 2 on hand that were a bit too slender. So I wrapped a small strip of cardboard (around the end with the pole screws) to thicken it up a bit. Then I simply secured the pole to the extender with packaging tape. Took only seconds to attach. I thought it'd be wobbly but it's surprisingly strong and works great. You could try unscrewing the head off your current mop or broom and see if it fits on there. Or bring the extender to the store with you to match it up with a pole that will screw into it. I recommend buying one of those telescoping extendable poles from your local paint or hardware store.

Very handy way to mark the branches or anything high up.
I purchased this to mark dead branches in the tree's that are shedding like crazy.I have 13 tree's on my lot, and every time we get a bad storm, the dead branches rain down. I have to wait until we get a frost to cut the dead limbs down. All of the leaves will be off, and when this happens it will be very hard to tell which of the branches are alive, and which are dead.I bought this as an inexpensive, DIY way of identifying the branches when it snows out.I took a broom handle off and attached the spay can extender on to it. I then attached the broom handle to a piece of electrical conduit. I tied a piece of string onto the trigger. With this set up i was able to get about 20 feet in the air from the ground. Pretty cool. You could use this set up to spray wasp nests, spray for bugs, etc.

Modified - Now a 3-star, but with effort
3-star review: I tried it again but this time used a 15 oz. can. Also, this can had a front-hinged button, so I had to insert a small block of wood between the lever and the button so it would push on the back side of the button. That worked. It sprayed.Previous 1-star review: It partially works with a big (17.5 oz.) can of Raid Ant and Roach spray. It will press down on the spay button enough to emit a weak stream of the contents but not a spray. Any can used must have a folded seam at the bottom or it will not stay in the device because it will have nothing to hook under. I am now shopping for a smaller can to see if I can get one that will actually emit a spray when used in the device. When I do, I will re-visit this review.Even after my 3-star review, I can't recommend this device to a non-DIY person. I would not buy it again.

I hate wasps. I hate dodging overspray from wasp killer ...
I hate wasps. I hate dodging overspray from wasp killer even more. I've been donning hats, protective eyewear, and rinsing off after each foray into wasp genocide for the past few years. Not to mention that my eaves are so high I end up using 1/4 can of spray on each nest.I figured this would convert my wasp spray from the inaccurate machine gun that it was, into a .50 caliber sniper rifle. Saving me product, and protecting me from friendly fire.I was wrong. I have yet to find a can of wasp spray that works in this thing. The cans I had bought in bulk here on amazon were too long (that extra 20% for free was a bad thing in this case). If the can isn't short enough to fit inside the bottom "arm" of the extender any attempt to press the button on the can will drop the can right out of the extender. So I paid full price for a regular size can - it fit, but the actuator on the extender didn't go down far enough to press the button on the can. Tried one other brand, and while the actuator made contact - it wasn't strong enough to actually depress the button on the can....
