This does exactly what it says - removes the undercoat hair from your pet. My dogs don't shed (Maltese), but I have a domestic short-haired cat that is a walking fur bomb. After a couple of days of 10-15 minute sessions combing her, there is a noticeable decrease in the amount of hair that comes off when you pet her or that is left on your clothes and furniture. Each session results in a fist-sized ball of fur removed and a silkier feeling pet. I deducted 1 star because it seems a little large (wide) for smaller pets like cats, especially around the head and neck area. My cat is pretty temperamental but puts up with the combing in short bursts as long as I scratch her head while I'm doing it. As a bonus, the comb works really well for removing hair from clothing and furniture.I paid full price for this product.  My reviews are honest and reflect my opinion on the product based on the advertised price regardless of the price I actually paid.If after extended use, there are any significant changes or the product fails to perform as expected, I will update my review.Thank you for taking the time to read my review and feel free to ask any questions. I used to own this style of brush, the deshedding style with the hooked teeth... At the time I swallowed hard and paid big $ at one of the big box pet stores. Lost it. So here I am on Amazon and of course I'm thinking, I'm going to find a brush that's just as good at a fraction of the price because that's what the internet is for. Saw the FURm***tor.... Probably a darn good brush but that price tho... Still cheaper than the one I originally bought but... No. You're like me and you're a savvy shopper, you know everything's made in CN, you know there's a 1000% markup and that thing, you know the same thing can be had for pennies on the dollar from a vendor willing to make less and make up the difference on volume. So 3-4 pages into my search here it is. Ordered. Used it immediately upon its arrival, just what I remembered. Looks and feels the part, quality.. Well made... Pooch seem like he enjoyed it, no pulling, most importantly it worked exactly as I remembered - every stroke was removing giant handfuls of hair from from short haired dog with ease and causing neither of us any discomfort. Plenty wide, in fact you wouldn't want wider because you need to brush legs, neck, top of head, hips, etc and a wider brush would make that difficult. This is the zillion dollar deshedding brush that isn't a zillion dollars, it's a few bucks rushed to your door via Prime. Don't pay triple for a name, This is The One.

It did OK. I don't really have anything to compare it to, but from reading some of the reviews on here, I was expecting more. My dogs did not seem to mind and it didn't irritate their skin. I have a australian-german shepard mix and a schnauzer-lab mix for reference.

The 1st time I used this brush, I got enough hair off my cat to knit a kitten. It works every bit as well as the industry standard "Furminator" but at only one sixth of the price. I find it to be the most comfortable to use of the 3 desheddining brushes which I have tried (including the Furminator). It seems very balanced in my hand. I'm guessing that the extreme "goose-neck" at the top of the handle makes it so comfortable, but I'm not sure why. Perhaps it offsets my hand from my cat's surface, so I'm not dragging my knuckles across the cat. It also helps to keep my hands just a little bit further from her claws. For some reason she gets frisky and playful when I brush her, then her claws start flying - like she sees me as a mouse toy. The "goose-neck" handle seems to provide me more "near-misses" and fewer infected , successful"strikes." I bleed less, so I like it more. I deem this the best money spent on a cat-brush!

Not as good as the furminator as it requires passing over a section multiple times for it to be effective. Can't complain though since it was 1/5 of the price of a true furminator.

We have a Boxer mix and American Bulldog mix and every so often he sheds like crazy and it can get out of control. We decided to purchase this deshedding brush and are amazed at the amount of loose hair we have skimmed off his body. The first time we used it after receiving it, we brushed him with it and deshedded quite a bit of loose hair. We bathed the dog and then used the tool again. We were happy we used the tool prior to bathing the dog because it would have been a lot more hair down the drain if we hadn't. The amount of hair post bathing was still a lot but not as much as prior. Love love love it! Dog doesn't mind it either.

I've used quite a few different brushes and combs for my dog, and this is easily the best one yet. I know you are supposed to use specific types based on the dogs coat, but I never seemed to remember to ask the groomers I went to what the proper type was. Took a chance on this one and it is perfect. My dog enjoys it as well. Be careful not to apply too much pressure when using it as it can easily scrape your dog's skin.Seems like it is constructed well and should hold up for quite some time. Considering it is a fraction of the cost of other similar style combs, I couldn't be happier with it.

So far so good, it works, my dog is a little nervous right now as she hurt her hind legs in a fall. But she lets me gently comb her back and it does really get rid of excess hair and she has a lot of it; I would recommend this product;
