AWESOME PRODUCT!
I can not say enough good things about this wireless hard drive! I am going to buy one more of these so my kindle can have one by itself so I can have my books in one place! Pros: 1. Worked with both my iPhone, iPad, and my kindle fire. 2. Was able to stream movies between all my devices at the same time. The response time is awesome! 3. was able to use plug and play so I had no problems moving files to it. Cons: 1. When trying to play music from the file I encountered a bug in the software. The music I stopped playing would start back once I stopped paying a movie. 2. A little slow when starting the drive back up due to the drive warming up the wireless link, but once it starts it is great. 3. The drive gets very hot so that makes me want to not keep the drive running for a long time. All the cons aside I think this is a good investment to expand my hardware since there is a very limited choices in external hard drive that are portable and wireless. I hope this helps!

A good flash drive
I recently bought a Android Tablet that didn't have an USB connection in order to be able to use a flash drive for watching movies. This product fits the bill. I am able to connect to this drive using a wireless connection and a app that you can get off the Android Market and Amazon Market. The pros are as follows: No problems connecting the wireless to my tablet. Plays most video and audio files (doesn't play MKV format) Can bridge my wireless internet connection through the WI Drive. Can have up to three connections at a time. Can use the USB connection to be coonected to a computer without using the wireless. The cons are as follows: Battery life is about three hours. Lots of pauses playing a movie with using bluetooth speakers. Had troubles using wireless with a laptop computer. (need to use the web address to access to get to WI Drive root directory. My laptop wants to download the files rather than streaming the video.) Case is prone to fingerprints. Overall, I reccommend the Wi Drive. It is a good unit to use for road trips to entertain the children and others to watch movie or listen to music to pass the time for the paasengers. I plan to use it for my camping trips in order to watch a movie before I go to bed. The connection is reliable and works. Just be sure to have the correct file format so that the tablet is able to play.

I Have Two Of These
I have a 32Gig version and a 16Gig version. Both work great. I have not had the issues others have had. I found the set up to be easy with no issues. The internet passthrough works, although, I rarely use it. Movies for the grandkids and for long flights work great. Ok so the rest of the reviews talk about the device, I'm going to let you in on a couple of things I've found out that will make this device even better. First, if you want to use the wi drive and charge at the same time, just start up the wi drive and wait for it to boot up (wait for the blue lights) and then plug it in. The device will charge and you can continue using it wirelessly. It works on the charger and it works on macbook pro and air usb ports. So you can charge and use at the same time. Second, you can use for other storage too. This device will work with webdav. Access using webdav and you can wirelessly access all aspects of the drive (yes you can read and write files) and would not be restricted by file types. Accessing with using webdav makes this a better device than it already is.

Disappointing and under-engineered
I'm on my second Wi-Drive. The first one crashed/froze after I went to Kingston's website to update the software on it. Emails with a very polite, very co-operative tech person at Kingston did not help, so I returned for a replacement. That worked fine until - don't ask me why - I decided to update the software on the replacement. Yup. Crash. I sort of got it going again and managed to use it to transfer files to my iPad so I am keeping it. But it is of limited value. It is slow and clunky but a marginally useful alternative to The Cloud if I am in an Internet free place. It is a pretty piece of technology to look at and hold, but to use? Meh. If you buy one of these and go to the mfgr's site do not upgrade the software as suggested, and don't have high hopes. Clever idea. Mediocre execution.

Best accessory for a Tablet or Kindle Fire
I purchased the Wi Drive from when I travel to provide me with additional storage to both my Galaxy Tablet and Kindle Fire. My wife and share these devices, so having some extra storage for videos or photos was important. Before I get to the actual reeview, let me say I wish I had purchased the 64GB unit. I purchased the 16GB one. The unit is easy to tranfer videos and pictures was very easy. Simply connect the Wi Drrive to the PC using the USB cord supplied with the unit. It registers as an external drive. These worked perfectly, but, as with any USB transfer, it took a long time. Prior to using the Wi Drive with either Tablet, you need to go to the appropriate App Store and download the free Wi Drive App. Both the Amazon App store and the Google Play have the app. When you connect to the Wi Drive the tablet's wireless connection is substituted with the Wi Drrive connection. There is a way to bridge the connection and maintain both wifi connections, but I did not find that necessary.. Once the link appears, and you tap on it, you have access to the individual files on the drive. I have used the Wi Drive to stream videos to both units, shown photos and read documents. I am extremely pleased with the Wi Drive, my only regret is not purchasing the larger 64GB unit.

um doesnt do anything
My wifi was broken and by the time I tried this item it was too late to return it. I'll probably just throw it out. Ive tried it on various computers, and nothing. Zilch. It's like it doesn't even exist. Completely and utterly a scam item IMO. I tried reaching out to customer service once and that was a waste. Don't lose your money like I did, completely avoid this item if you actually want to store information.
