"Golly, this cancer curing medicine sure does taste bad." -everyone that gave it a 1-star reviewIt is a testament to our luxurious lives that people can give such a miraculous substance a 1-star review based on smell. I guess they have never heard of laundry detergent before. You can just use other substances to counter the smell, but I suppose that requires "effort," which probably causes all the 1-star-reviewers to feel like they are burning in acid as they burn 5 extra calories more than usual that day. Way to give a hard time to the company making this product that is providing life and extreme levels of comfort to "allergy challenged" individuals like me.As someone that is fatally allergic to dust mites, this stuff allows me to live a relatively normal life. It is God's blessing in liquid form. I don't know what I would have done without it. I have been using it for years.Really upsets me to see such a quality product being down-voted due to ignorance for what it is and what it does.Anyone that has issues with dust mites, just use this stuff and you will be fine. If your clothing comes in contact with some epic horrible dust mites from an old chair or whatever, don't throw it out, just put it in a bucket full of DeMite and it will be fully cleansed in several days. I've never had to throw out any of my clothes since discovering this stuff.God bless the people making this product.

This works. Yes it’s expensive, yes it might not smell fabulous I have discovered that if you use bleach with it that makes it stink. And that smell will not leave for a while. I had a mite infestation. Not just dust mites, gawd, it was super horrid and gross, I won’t even go into it but just so you know, I am NOT horrid and gross. Just had to clear that up. Okay so on with my review/ pathetic mini mite saga. I was told “ borax is the key” nope. I soaked my stuff in borax. Did not work. I was still mite breakfast lunch and dinner and snack time as well. And yes my water was very hot and yes I used a hot dryer. They loved it, they thought they went to the beach and then had a sauna. So I found this. It helped so much. I had to wash my linens daily yes, I had been doing that anyway, it totally is so not my most favorite thing to do, but I could use a cap full of this, soak my sheets for an hour and finish the wash and done. No mites. Then on to blankets and undies and whatever else. AND, you don’t have to wash every single thing you own in hot water. I do anyway since this happened except for my dry clean stuff. I figured if it shrunk to fit a toddler well a toddler could have it. Turns out it all worked well. I will never stop using it now just because of the dust mite thing and dermodex mites. I hate those things. They want to steal my face.

I bought this and the first thing I washed was a cats blanket. After applying as stated by the directions, and the blanket had dried, I took a good sniff! Absolutely no reaction to the cats, I am so allergic to cats that when I take care of the man who owns the two cats, I have to wear a super gas type of mask! I was amazed at this product. There were even plenty of cat hairs still in the blanket, but no reaction from sniffing it directly. Thank you for producing such a practical product!

This is a terrific product you can still use your own laundry detergent but it just killed all of the allergen in your laundry. It doesn't really smell unless you stick your nose right in your laundry and who does that? Anyway I'm glad I have it and I'm glad I can still use my laundry detergent I use it on towels and bedding and anything that is going to come close to my breathing because I have allergies. My tip for using this is to fill the cap and then take a towel or a t-shirt that's in your laundry Wipe Out the cat and put the cap back on the bottom. That will help you not have anything one down the bottle. Thank you very much

This additive to the wash was a helpful adjunct to my campaign to rid my house of rodent mites. The campaign included having a pest company find and seal up a few small openings into attic spaces where rats could get in and out, setting traps to kill off the rats, and spraying the house with a food-grade insecticide (I only had to be out of the house for a few hours after it had been sprayed). I also covered pillows and two sets of mattresses and box springs with bedbug-proof covers (even though I did not, thank heavens have bedbugs) in case the rodent mites had gotten into the pillows or mattresses or box springs, and I washed the sheets and pillow cases frequently, along with my other laundry items, with De-Mite. The campaign worked--after a few weeks I got no more of those annoying very small but exceedingly itchy bites--and I think that De-Mite was helpful. One good thing about it is you can add it to your regular wash at the regular temperature that you use.

We only use a little at a time like you're supposed to and it leaves an absolute stink on our bedding and even in the drier. My husband thought it smelled like burning. It smells so bad that after we wash our bedding we had to leave the window wide open to air out before I could sleep in there.It does reduce the allergens but I'd rather be sick than deal with that STINK. I have to switch brands.

I know this bottle seems pricey, but one bottle lasts me 6-8 months. I only use it for one person in my household, and it makes a big difference with her dust mite allergies. It has no smell after the clothes are washed and dried. I use unscented fabric softener and All free and clear, so there is nothing masking an unpleasant scent. I've been buying this for years after an allergist recommended it. Works great!

I have horrible dust mite allergies and I've tried other products in the past. However, I keep coming back to this product. While I'm not a huge fan of the smell (thus the 4 stars and not 5) it really does the job. I wash just my bedding in this though with normal detergent and it lasts me close to two years. I am single and have quite a lot of sheets/bedding so I think it's worth spending the money on the larger bottle. I really recommend this for anyone who suffers from dust mite allergens.
